Oct 8, 2013 11:59 AM in response to whoisluciaby Eric Root,If you can't see the PC to just copy it over, if you have an external hard drive, try copying the iTunes file to the external drive. You can then copy it to the Mac or access it on the Mac by setting iTunes to look there for the file.

Oct 8, 2013 1:07 PM in response to whoisluciaby Joe Bailey,First the person you boiught the Macbook Pro from should have disabled his account on the MBP before transferring it to you. In iTunes that is on the menu bar under Store > Deauthorize this computer...
Once the computer has been deauthorized from his account, you will have to authorize your iTunes account on the iTunes menu bar under Store > Authorize this computer. However, for your protection and the protection of the person you got the MBP from, you should completely erase the hard drive and reinstall everything from scratch.
Hopefully you received the original install disks when you got the computer. If not you will have to contact Apple and purchase a set that is compatible with your MBP. The last I heard they charge around $20 for that. Once you have the original install disc(s) boot from the install disc and as soon as a menu bar appears at the top of your screen, launch Disk Utility and erase the hard drive, then continue and install the version of OS X that originally came on the MBP. Then you will have to purchase the upgrade to OS X 10.8 and install it. This serves the double duty of getting you a clean install and reginstering it with Apple so you will be able to install updates and upgrades in the future using your own Apple ID and not the original owner's.
Then you can copy the Music folder from your PC to the Music folder in your account on the MBP and there will be no ownership confusion.

Oct 8, 2013 1:11 PM in response to Joe Baileyby Tommy197944,Also, if most of the music from itunes on your pc was purchased, you can easily get it back by going into your itunes -> store, click on purchased under quick links, and redownload them to your MBP. I do suggest to do like joe said, though, before re-downloading any purchased music, so things don't become...... messy.

Oct 9, 2013 6:43 PM in response to Joe Baileyby whoislucia,Thank YOU so much.. This MAC is definitely an EYE opening experience and quite different from a regular PC.
I will definitely take it to the store and get it cleaned and reinstalled, because I need to start fresh and take some MAC 101 classes..lol
Have a good evening.

Oct 10, 2013 8:53 AM in response to whoisluciaby Eric Root,Welcome to the world of Mac. Some ‘light’ reading to help the transition. I don’t recommend trying to get through all of this at once.
