Q: What password do I need for my back up to new iphone 5S?

I have backed up my old iphone 5 but can't restore this to my new iphone 5S because iTunes asks for a password.  I have tried my old phone password, my admin password for my Macbook Pro and my Apple ID password and none of these work.  Has anyone had this probem and knows how to help?

Ok I have found an alswer to my own question! It turns out that you need to sign in to iTunes first.  Though this might seem obvious, it was still quite irritating to not be able to just use my Apple ID password to restore when prompted for a password.

It seems I spoke too soon. I tried restoring my back up from iTunes after syncing my device but it still asks me for a password, which isn't any of the passwords I have associated with this device and my computer and iTunes.  Can anyone help?

Ok, I tried an old password from when I first set up my Apple ID and password and that worked. It seems that it stores your backup password as whatever Apple ID password you were using when you originally synced your device. This password should really change with new password reset changes.
