I agree Lee-Anne1, if we can't undo what's been done to our iPhone's perhaps we can discuss the alternatives?

The answer is indeed "you can't".

The next step in the ever continuing annoyance: i'm still on ios6, but why the F did crapple push 3 gigs of ios7 junk firmware onto my phone without concent. Idiots.

This is probably the most useless discussion on this site. All it is are haters and lovers of IOS 7 going at it.

The question was answered about a week ago.....YOU CANNOT UN-INSTALL IOS7!!!!

End of discussion. What more is there to say?? Seriously??

There are no other alternatives. Just bashing like little school children.

Is it possible that Apple made this "upgrade" non-reversible to prevent a repeat of the iTunes upgrade of last year when people did just that as they didn't like the new software? Should they not have warned us first? Should they not have pointed out that it was not compatable with older versions of iTunes?

I've read part of this topic. I see a lot of people argueing why you should not complain, or the argument that you will only hear the complainers and the big majority is happy so you don't read posts from them.

A year back I bought my mother an Ipad. She really loves it, but per accident (no body warned her about the big changes in IOS 7) she upgraded. She doesn't like the icon change. The new icons are more diffucult to understand in some cases. The font size is less easy to read, especially when you need reading glasses anyway. She would like going back to the old IOS. She won't post here or anywhere else, she won't complain but isn't too happy about the things I mentioned. She actually liked some changes to the mail client. Functional changes which makes it easier to work with your email.

Now my personal opinion (Iphone). I really hate the icons. The old ones were far more obvious, nicer to look at. The new ones are too bright, ugly and I have to agree - the font used in the description is less readable. Even if you enable the setting to make the letters bold (which I would recommend as a default setting for everyone).

The interface to select one of your open pages in safari is ugly. It's not very easy to use just by 1 thumb which I always used to navigate on my phone. The version before the tabs was quite nice, I would really prefer that back. The search screen is inconvinient - navigating UP is far less easy with your thumb than navigating left (on the ipad it's not really an issue I think, but for the iphone i don't like it). In safari I want my old navigation bar back - and by default please. I've an iphone 4s but really, the old button to go full screen worked great and uncomplicated. Put it back please!

Overall I don't really percieve IOS7 as an improvement. You might disagree - but especially if you are a regular on this forum 'helping' people remember the complaints are not for you - nor for you to disagree with since that will add nothing to this topic in the sense of helping with anything. Go help people in other topics, and let apple read how people who DON'T like all the new 'features' of IOS 7 percieve this amazing version of IOS. I really find it disappointing that this road is taken and personally feel this road is not the road Apple should be traveling. Steve Jobs was always against the design style used now, and there was obviously a good reason for that.

    Regards

    A happy macbook user

Every one of the dozens of upgrades that have come over 6 years have been non-reversible. You had 3 months to review iOS 7 and its features in videos and demos on the web site. Every new version has been incompatible with the previous version, because basic data structures change and are enhanced. And security enhancements are only made to the latest version.

iOS downgrades  have never been allowed as doing so would make hacking all the easier. The only "alternative" that can be discussed here is to obtain a phone with an earlier iOS already installed.

    I like IOS 7.

    It's a refreshing change.

Having had Iphones since the 3G the color is nice.

    The speed is better.

    Siri works better.

    Find my iPhone works better.

And that was on my old 4S. I use to have 5 of those. All worked fine on IOS 7.0 and 7.0.2.

Now I have 5 5c's. All updated to 7.0.2. They had 7.0 when I got them.

    They ALL work flawlessly.

Stop the fussing and fighting. It will change nothing.

And if you want to jump ship and go to Android or Nokia or a Windows Phone, you will find the same things happen there that happen here.

Crap changes... People get ******... ***** and moan...

Then they grow up and accepte it.

Apple's shareholders won't be too happy when sales drop. The future will tell.

If Apple had left the tired iOS UI unchanged, there would have been a 500 page thread ranting about how Apple can no longer innovate, probable including  the vry same individuals complaining here about how they hate iOS 7.  It would have been accompanied by a real drop in sales and customer base instead of the significant improvement that has already occurred.

you can not and wil never be able to downgrade unless its unoffical way to do so.

simple way to fix it is it u really hate iOS 7 and all the changes Apple has made just get a diffrent phone.

I don't think that many people really want the old IOS 6, it's really that they dislike parts of IOS 7 enough that they'd rather have IOS 6 instead. Apple could have thrilled us all with IOS 7, if they'd stayed on the beautiful and cleverer-than-clever path that they've been on (and many of us bought into). But IOS 7 is buggy (I'm confident that will be fixed) and mediocre in its cleverness and beauty (I am doubtful that will be fixed).

I've been ******* after an iPad upgrade and maybe a mini, but at this point I am just going to see how things improve. Maybe 7.1 will bring some fixes, maybe we'll have to wait for 8. Maybe something better will come along first.

OS X Mavericks would have been a must-have for me just because it's newer and 'better', but I've been burned now. IOS 7 really took the shine off Apple.

Nicely put. I agree with what you've said here.

There are lots, and lots of people who are intolerant of any change, and will always disapprove, no matter what is done, often forgetting their previous complaints about what they now want to go back to.

iOS 7 does have features that leave things to be desired, in my view.  The psychedelic icon colors seem to be designed to appeal to certain Asian markets now being developed.  The animations become annoying even if you don't have visual or balance impairment issues. The gray on white fonts can be improved with the bold fonts setting, but I don't get the point of having it in the first place There should be settings to completely disable the animations, mute (not just reverse) colors, and improve readability of the stock font set,
