Q: iCloud overrides calendar color.

iCloud overrides my calendar color and I cannot change the color back to the original or any other color. iCloud keeps changing it to the color it wants. Any advice?

    I HAVE THIS SAME PROBLEM!

Since 1 week, my green iCloud calendar is purple, and every time I change it back to green it becomes purple after 10 seconds...

Ok, so I was doing some experiementing and this worked for me. Here's what I did.

    Signed into iCloud

    Opened iCal on my mac

Exported (essentially backed up) the two calendars that were causing the issue to my desktop

Deleted the troublesome calendars on iCloud

Waited for everything to update from the iCloud servers

Dragged and Dropped the exported calendar files back into iCal on my mac

Waited for everything to sync up with iCloud

Changed the colors of the calendars

So far it's stuck. Just took a little trial and error.

This worked for me. I did it a little differently in that I just started a whole new calendar and the color seemed to stay with it. I then exported and re-imported the old calendar and merged it with the new calendar and it changed all the old entries to the desired color. Just delete the old calendar after that.

Same problem here, very frustrating. I cannot do the start-new-calendar-import-old-data game, because the calendar in question is shared with other people and I don't want to send new invitations &c.

On my iPhone I could change the colour back, but on the mac and on iCloud it isn't possible…

I realized it was my icloud default calendar that was causing problems.  I changed my default to a little used calendar.  The problem went away on both calendars.  The default isn't important to me as I use my devices to enter all events and I can set them to any default I want.   You can change the default calendar setting by clicking on the little gear, lower left of icalendar.  Hope this helps until the fix comes along.

Seems Apple has solved the issue. My calendars are the right colour again…
