Q: itunes has completely lost all my films/apps/music!

Since a recent update itunes has completely lost all my films/apps/music that I have purchased. (version 11.1.1)

Thankfully I have these on an external hard drive.

Itunes is still directed correctly to the HD but nothing is showing when I open itunes.

I have no idea what to do.

Any suggestions.

iMac (27-inch Mid 2010), Mac OS X (10.7.5)

Perphas you need to restore an older version of the library file, either from the Previous iTunes Libraries folder or from Time Machine if you use it. Try comparing the file sizes of the files you have available to you. Offhand I'm not sure how OS X treats files extensions but if they're hidden you need to make sure you're not creating a file called iTunes Library.itl.itl as that won't work.

Hi

Ive ensured the extension is correct.

Ive tried earlier files but this has not worked either.
