Play controls not working after update. I have to unlock screen and go to app to control. When plugging in to car it doesn't play where last left off. All these nice features you get use to now gone or screwed up for some new look. Apple you can have it back. Give me what works. What a pain. This ios 7 update is crap. Starting to remind me of windows junk. Flashy new effects and graphics, but no functionality. I new after Steve died Apple would go downhill. Sad.
Soft reset is a temp fix. It doesn't last.

Apple iOS7 doesn't work in many fronts. I have this problem too. Get this fixed or I want a refund of my device cost so that I can switch to Samsung.

Same problem. Submitting my feedback to apple now. Whatever happened to "it just works" straight out of the box? I guess Steve Job's attention to detail remains unmatched... that's really no excuse though.

I have the problem also. The quick control in the control center, such as the title jump further, Play and Pause, unfortunately, does not work. If iPhone is connected to the car via bluetooth (AUDI MMI), the control also does not work on the control center, except for the volume control. Only on the Music app a title or playlist can be selected and started.
I am very disappointed.

I have the same problem. Soft or hard reset it's all the same, no workie. I don't hate iOS 7, but i hate the way Apple doesn't care at all.

For me, the problem just popped up over the past several days. No firm evidence, but it seems to have shown up with the 7.02 update.
I'm still using an iPhone 4s. I have to reboot the phone several times a day to get control center to work with music. Not only that, but all music controls for me quit working. Even the iPod app stops working. I can click on the play/pause button and the iPod says it's playing whatever track I have chosen, but no sound comes out.
I've always been an early adopter with new versions of iOS, but I wish I would have waited this time.

Soft reset (reboot) fixes it for a couple of hours, then it comes back. Broken on lock screen, control center, car stereo and bluetooth accessories. Have to go into the Music app EVERY TIME.

This doesn't solve the problem, try reset all settings instead. It works for me 3 days ago. I mean it really works, you don't loose any data, only your personal settings, it is worth to try.

Hi as i said before over a week ago now i did the soft reset and it works perfectly. It is still owrking now int he car on blue tooth and everything.
it might be an app conflict i only have the 16gb iphone 5 and i have 97 apps currently with only 3gb space left on my phone.
maybe try the soft reset twice? on my ipad i never had the problem at all.

Just joining the conversation. Reboot/reset fixes the issue for a short time.

"Reset All Settings" only worked temporarily for me. After a day, it was back. So far nothing has worked permanently.

I have found that control center will keep working If I pause the audio from control center and then close control center before turning off my car and disconnecting my phone from my car stereo.
I'm now on day 5 using this procedure and haven't had to reboot my phone once.

A 'soft reset' only fixes it temporarily for me. The problem keeps popping back.
