Jun 18, 2011 4:16 AM in response to Momo1306by King_Penguin,You can't, it is blocked (I believe) by the serial number of the iPad. You can try asking at an Apple Store, but I think the only way that you will be able to get FaceTime on it is if they exchange it (which is probably doubtful).

Jun 18, 2011 4:32 AM in response to Momo1306by MUSIC_foryou,If you purchased the iPad in Dubai, it will not work as FaceTime is not enabled on devices bought in Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, UAE, Egypt or Jordan possibly due to regulations in these countries which restrict the use of IP-based communications technology.
I think as many disappointed customers from the Middle East seem to be unable to access the FaceTime app, Apple should make it mandatory to inform the buyers of the iPad 2 that this specific feature is disabled & cannot be installed or downloaded.

Jul 11, 2011 4:47 AM in response to Momo1306by mariafromdubai, yup no facetime on ipad2 bought in middle east which is very dissapointing. i just bought mine like 2 months ago and i am still trying to be savvy on my new toy, i just watched the posted ipad2 video on i-tunes store and seems like im missing not just face time but lots more ex. imovie which it says its included and also i cant make out the itunes on my ipad2, i have the icon yes but when i open it it only gives me itunesU, podcast and downloads and everytime pops up a window that says cannot connect to itunes store (thought I have internet connection).. duh im more dissapointed than happy with my new toy that promises a lot.... I am open to any sugestion or comment or if anybody there that is more savvy with ipad2 apps and uses im more than willing to listen and go thru this one by one, just take note that my ipad2 is bought from Dubai.

Jul 11, 2011 5:55 AM in response to mariafromdubaiby Matthew Smith,iMovie is a separate purchase from the iTunes Store.
What is available from the iTunes Store and App Store is different for each country. See http://support.apple.com/kb/TS3599

Oct 10, 2013 11:17 PM in response to Minna Ezzby Hakkomi129,Hi
I believe there is something wrong with your case, as the update should never erase the Facetime. I am in Dubai and UAE banning facetime but still I have managed to update without any problem to Facetime. Could you tell me from where you have bought your iPad?
