Q: When I update my airport extreme, a box says "device and network will be temporarily unavailable". Does that mean I will need to do the update from a "Wired Connection"?

When I update my airport extreme, a box says "device and network will be temporarily unavailable". Does that mean I will need to do the update from a "Wired Connection"?

    No, it means that you will not be able to use the AirPort Extreme in a normal way until the update completes and the AirPort Extreme restarts.

     

    Although, it would be a good idea to do the update from a wired connection if you can, since this minimizes the chances of an error occuring during the process.

     

    The update should only take a few minutes and then you will be back in business.
