Aug 9, 2013 12:17 PM in response to LandryJTby sheila_m.,Hello LandryJT,
I would be concerned too if my Apple TV was constantly dropping a connection and causing me to power cycle. I recommend taking a look at the following articles for an issue like this:
Apple TV: Troubleshooting wireless connections
http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1595
iOS and OS X: Recommended settings for Wi-Fi routers and access points
http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4199
Thank you for using Apple Support Communities.
Best,
Sheila M.

Oct 13, 2013 10:41 AM in response to sheila_m.by LandryJT,Thanks for trying to help, but I have gone through all troubleshooting.
I've tried:
- restarting.
- restarting my modem.
- upgrading internet speed and providers.
- Not using a private router. Using one installed my internet provider.
- Setting AppleTV on the floor so nothing would interfere with the antennae.
I'm able to connect to the internet using other devices, reliably over wireless, however not using the appletv.
Now, I can't see the wireless network at all (btw its a publicly broadcast network, with password set my internet provider). Last night, everything was fine (as it can be with my problems with this). Watched Netflix and then used AirPlay through my MBP, and it froze on my TV, but was still playing on MBP. I haven't been able to connect to my wireless since then. I'm connected using my MBP though, so it's not my wireless.
When I restart it, it automatically goes to "setting date and time..." and if I leave it on that screen, eventually the screen saver pops on.
I'm convinced there is something wrong with the device.

Oct 24, 2013 11:30 AM in response to LandryJTby Pearly King,I'm having similar issues.
I have 3 Apple TVs. Two of them are 2nd gen but I have constant problems with my 3rd gen dropping of my wifi network.
If I reboot it'll work fine for maybe a day or so but if I airplay simething it'll stop streaming after about 10mins
Very frustrating
Both Apple TV 2s very reliable

Oct 26, 2013 7:00 PM in response to LandryJTby teribat,I am having the same problem with my Apple TV3Gen. My iOS and Macs connect fine. Sometimes it connects, but then refuses.
I have an Apple Time Capsule for wifi. Updated the firmware when problem first happened about a month ago. Hope Apple has a fix.
