can not screen share administrator screen.

When I try to share screen with administrator computer, get Failed current status field.  Last week, I was able to share screen administrator computer.  I am able to share a client screen with other client screen.  Have been using ard for about a year now with 28 computer clients in classroom.  Recent ard update to 3.6 on my Lion computer, since then unable to share screen.

    Updated 30 lab mac minis and admin mac air to ARD 3.6.  Screen share under interact menu does not work. All other interacts work fine.  When trying to use screen share, screens of mac minis goes black for 3 minutes.  ARD states failure on admin computer.   Also, saved computer lists are not working properly like other posts.

     

    Tried to diasable remote management for mac mini and then enable with reboot.  No difference.

    Screen sharing suddenly stopped for everyone a few days. Another user posted the fix, which is a bizarre one, but try this:

     

    Go to System Prefs>MobileMe

    Click "Sign Out" (you're probably perma-signed-in)

     

    Bingo, your screen sharing should work again.

    Noone found a fix for this? Spendning the weekend at school, prepairing for my first lesson in our brand new iMac lab. To find out I can't show the screen of my computer to the students wasn't a happy discovery... I can show my screen to one student computer, or show a student computer's screen to all other studen computers – but not my screen to all student computers!

    I am also having a similar issue. All the lab machines are running 10.7. Some are the newer intell Macs. My Mac can do everything in remote desktop to the lab computers except screen share. I've never logged in or used mobile me. I'm dead in the water as far as demonstrating until I can figure out what the problem is.

    Similar issue. It will allow connecting to the other screens yet sends nothing or a black page.

     

    However a lap top connected to instructor computer will share. 

     

    The computer was recently checked out and found to be fine.

    Same-same! Client to client also works fine her. It does not matter which OS version the clients have (10.5, 10.6, 10.7, 10.8 all fails)

    Same here.

    I am able to share a client screen with other clients screen, but not my macbook pro´s screen -All on 10.7.4. All happened after installing 15 brand new iMacs on our lab and updating to 10.7.4.

     

    In a couple of instances it suddenly worked when testing, but back in class only black screens for a minute and back.


    I have used ARD for years, both as a teacher and as administrator and never experienced this before.

    As I have already started teaching I need this to work ASAP.

    Anyone addressed apple?

    I am experiencing the exact same thing. There seems to be a conflict with the 3.6 admin and the 3.6 client. I finally went back to ARD 3.5.2 admin and screen sharing works again. However, it is not easy to go back. I had to do a complete clean install of the entire OS and start all over. The other issue I am experiencing is it takes about 3 minutes for all of my lab computers to "authenticate" when I open ARD. It used to take a matter of seconds. Running a computer lab, I depend so much on ARD, I hope Apple will address these conflicts soon.

    I'm having the same sharing issue from admin to client. You say going back to 3.5.2 works? Are you using Mountain Lion?

    Did anyone find any solutions to this issue?  We are having the same issue here in our district and the teachers are starting to get really agitated about it.  We have one lab that we haven't upgraded to 10.8 yet and they are still working OK but all the rest appear to have issues with the teacher being able to project her screen to all of their students.

    $6,000 for a basic enterprise support contact is pretty high to fix something Apple seems to have broken.

    Have you tried updating ARD (3.6.1 (471.16)) on the teachers laptop?

    Solved the problem for me, but it is still bit unstable.

    Sometimes I need to start sharing a couple of times before it activates. Have had a couple of drop out as well.

    yeah, everything is up to date.

    Right now I'm testing a work around using Vine Server (a VNC Server).

    Basically the Vine Server will allow multiple VNC connections at the same time and also has the option to disable the keyboard/mouse control of the incoming connections.  The Vine Server can easily be turned on or off so the teacher can control when the students can and cannot view her screen.

    Heck, she can even use ARD to launch the shortcut for the VNC viewer to make sure everyone is connecting.

    Has anyone checked out ARD 3.7 yet?  Just wondering if anyone has updated all their clients and admin with this ARD 3.7 update?  Did it help at all?
