Q: Reminder Sync Problem in IOS 7

Hi,

I'm using iPhone 5 and iPad 4G reminders for my bussiness & personal scheduling. As soo as updating to IOS 7, my tasks are not synced and sometimes I have to restart both devices to solve the problem. Please help as I think it is bug in IOS 7.

Best Regards,

I hate this syncing problem.  I have reminders listed on the default list for the whole year, and I would hate to have to reenter them all.

    Pages is also not syncing.

I hope they fix this soon!

Keep looking back here and trying what is being posted....nothing works. Has anybody been to an apple store? Is that worth a try? Also wrote to apple at the mentioned link. Really hope this is sorted soon.

@Siferra98 see my first post on page 3 of this thread - I did go to the Apple Store and one of their two suggestions was to do a factory restore; I haven't tried it yet since in my update post (also on page 3) for some reason it started syncing and I haven't had a problem since.  Since others still have syncing problems I suspect my issue was related to the number of lists I had (which was about ~10) but that shouldn't matter, so from my view, there's still a syncing issue.  I haven't tried a factory restore just yet and am just waiting until other updates are released and/or when I get time to do the factory restore.

Like some other people in this dicussion, this "fix" only worked for a few hours to half of a day, unfortunately.  I did try something else on last week (Thurs or Fri) and it appears to still be working.  I logged into iCloud.com and went under settings to reset documents and data.  Once you do that, power down each and every device that you are syncing.  This reset will not erase your iCloud data.  Once I did this and rebooted my devices, the sync started working properly and has done so since last week.  Hopefully, this may help some of you.

I don't know for sure if this is relevant but when I checked my mobile logs in Console I found it littered with 'stacks+MobileCal' crash reports with the following error reasoning:

MobileCal has active assertions beyond permitted time.

I'm no wizard with crash logs but the blurb has references to 'background content fetching' which seems to tie in with our Reminders issue.

These particular crash reports started 19th September which is the date I installed IOS7.

I've been having problems with reminders synchronization since the beginning. Tried many of the recommended solutions without any success.

But... last week I updated my iPhone with iOS version 7.0.2. Since then, no problem, sync is back to normal (it's been 4 days now).

You may want to ensure you've got this latest update in your phone.

I don't know about other people, but my solution was to kill the mandatory Outlook addon the iTunes iOS7 update installs (automatically, no user input, doesn't matter if you weren't using it before) it's getting installed. I then had to delete all my reminders from one device (In my case it was the iPad). I then forced a sync by adding a test reminder from my iphone. This showed up on the iPad, but it did take a little longer than what I was used to.

It took ages  -  but as of now (knock on wood) a combination of all the stuff mentioned finally worked for me:

    1) Backup Iphone onto Computer (not icloud) in Itunes, then disconnect

    2) Resest Icould on the homepage

    3) Restart Computer

    4) Prompt sync with new post in calender and in every one of the reminder lists there is

At this point I checked if all was working up until this stage, and it was.

    5) Reconnect Phone and Reset to Factory Settings

    6) Restore Phone using backup you made in point 1)

    7) Repeat point 4) on computer

    8) Try and be patient while phone loads data

...Fingers crossed it will stick to working!

    Thanks for all the ideas.

rickfromtolleson this solved my issue - just performed the reset on iCloud.com and it seems to be working, I will have to monitor it though - Cheers

In using the Reminders app, I have had the same syncing problem between my iPhone 5 and MacBook Pro. In addition to the syncing problem, I also had an odd bug wherein whenever I tried to edit a note within a reminder, the screen would jump suddenly down and the text could not be seen as it scrolled up beyond my view.

Sidbio, your suggestion to reset all settings on the phone seems to be the answer to both problems, at least within this first hour of your suggested fix.

I am grateful that you and others have taken the time to describe problems  and troubleshooting. Let's all keep our fingers crossed that resetting will do the trick.

I had this problem as well, tried resetting Documents and Data, disabling/enabling iCloud sync of reminders, but was finally able to resolve... For some reason, my iphone 4s and 5s both had a second default "Reminders" list, which would not sync with iCloud. After several attempts, I was able to delete that account: I cleared the list of all reminders, then went to the list and tapped on "edit". Tapped on Color and at the bottom of the color selection list - way down at the bottom of the screen - there was a "delete list" link. The process wasn't very intuitive. Once I deleted that list, everything syned beautifully between iCloud, iphone 5s, and ipad 3. Hope this helps someone else out there!

JdRule's suggestion to turn off the Exchange Reimnder worked for me too! Thanks!

Well, my problem is NOT solved. Every suggestion here only had the effect of a temporary solution. Reminder sync on the iPad remains a nuisance.

I have had nothing but problems with my iphone5 and synching. It is hurting my business.  One thing I may have stumbled on is that you can work around this problem, that shouldn't occur, by setting up two reminders for an appointment using the iphone calender.  The first reminder is ignored by outlook but the second reminder seems to work.  PITA but for what it's worth...
