can I print to a wifi printer from a iMac

To add a Wi-Fi printer connected to the same network as the computer, simply turn it on, go to System Preferences > Print & Scan, press the + button and choose your printer. Mac OS X will set the printer up automatically, and if your printer is compatible with AirPrint, you don't need any driver for the printer
