Just chiming in saying I agree - totally relate to the PJ issue even but the same can be said about any artist with a deep catalog.
Bring back Artist>Album>Song.
Totally unrelated but that landscape coverflow collage is essentially useless - I can't ever imagine using that view to pick music. At least in iOS 6 landscape kept in sync with where you were at artist/album wise. Now everytime my phone goes sideways I see the same group of "A" albums. What's the point?

It's good to see this is still getting some traction. We can't let up. We have to keep bringing this up and writing and/or calling Apple to voice our displeasure with this.
I also ran into a blog today discussing exactly these issues and why the app is such a disaster. See this link:
What I find infuriating is that I was at an Apple store to pick something up and I voiced my displeasure to an associate. He was actually defending the change. I couldn't believe it. It seemed that he would've defended anything Apple did. While I love the company and its products, they really dropped the ball here and my faith in them has been shaken, I must admit. I really hope someone is listening and they fix this disaster soon enough.

Another problem with the new music app that a lot of us are having, is the fact that listening songs from only a certain genre is not possible anymore. I spent some time categorizing all my music in artists, albums, genre etc. now the app not only disregards all this but it no longer allows me to listen to only a genre they way I used to. I can choose genres from the options but that's it.
I really hope someone in apple read these complaints.

Yes, the Genre menu selection seems to take you to a specific artist's songs within the selected genre (i.e. no way to play all songs of a particular genre).
A workaround is to use the search feature (within the Music app, not Spotlight search). If you search on a specific genre, the search results will have a category of "Genre" which will let you access all songs of that particular genre (provided that you've tagged the genre with the one you're searching on). You can then select any of the songs, then enable Shuffle if desired.

Just got off a support chat with Lindsay from Apple and let them know about this thread, she tried to select a genre and play all and was disappointed to find this issue.
Although there is no resolution at this time, she did say that she would forward this off to the devs as well so, keep reporting it! The squeaky wheel gets the grease!

I really hate not being able to play a single album at a time, sorted by artist. Why remove this feature from iOS6.1? Now I just have my music sorted by album, but I always have prefered to have it sorted by artist.
Also, what's with the lack of alphabet side bar in artist view? When I need to quickly choose an artist, it's now harder than before. Why does Apple take what was working perfectly fine and remove the usability? At least let us keep the option.

The worst part is when you open an album and all music inside is in random order. Every piece has it's correct number which is shown on the left, but all pieces are just random - 7,15,3,9,2 etc... Has anybody solved this issue for iPad?

I am also very unhappy with the changes tothe music app. Fortunately the techy at Apple Care put me unto a third party app which is very similar to the ios6 app, namely, Lagu. It's available in the App store nad it's free.

P.S. to my previous post. I search via Genre, Artist, Album. The new app lists all the albums by the particular artist, rather than just those that match the selected genre. For me, the new app is unusable. Get Lagu!

Besides all the issues mentioned above, how is it not possible to view the albums on iTunes in the same way as the iPhone and vice versa, like even when u open music from iPhone using shared libraries in the music app you dont get the same sorting of albums like iTunes. How is that even acceptable!

LOL after playing with it for a little bit I have realized you can just tell Siri to play genre whatever freaking genre you want to play and it'll play the freaking genre forget this shuffle button in the music app God we're dumb

We are not so dumb. Tryy searching for an album via genre, then artist. The result is every album by the artist in question, ratjher than just those of the genre. for example, I look for Beethoven's 5th symphony. I select "symphony" from genre, then "Beethoven" from artist. The result is all my Beethoven albums, symphonies, piano sonatas, string quartets, you name in. Useless!
