Oct 8, 2013 3:47 PM in response to AxeBox360by CardMagik,Because we're not allowed to use iTunes on our work PCs, there is no iTunes on this machine. If you use iTunes DO NOT follow this tip.
Go to Control Panel > Device Manager > Portable Devices > Apple iPhone
Double-click it
Disable it
Then this error goes away. I am so pleased.
Thanks to AXEBOX360

Oct 8, 2013 7:18 PM in response to CardMagikby Rukur,SIGH.
If I do this the iPhone does not charge either.
And it is Right Click on iPhone not Double Click to get the disable option in windows.

I Was tinkering around with a couple things, I figured it had something to do with iTunes so first thing
i went into settings>iTunes and there I noticed I wasn't signed in, so I f*ing signed in. Then
I went into the iTunes program and turned off the automatically sync when connected. After I closed out iTunes and settings saved it has not asked me again. hooefully this helps someone. Later

Oct 9, 2013 2:37 AM in response to Crissydripsby biowizard,REPEAT: this problem is NOT in iTunes, it is a problem with iOS 7. Because the alert appears when you connect your phone to a computer that is switched on, but not even running Windows or OS/X, let alone iTunes.
In fact, the ONLY time this issue does NOT occur, is when you plug into a computer that IS running iTunes under Windows or OS/X, that you have previously trusted.
And if I reboot my "trusted" Windows computer while my iPhone/iPad is connected, the moment the power cycles (during the reboot), up pop the trust messages again.
If I UNPLUG my devices before rebooting Windows, and WAIT until Windows is fully running - then no message. If I plug in too soon, before Windows has loaded the Apple drivers, up comes the message.
It's a friggin' pain - and IS NOT ANYTHING TO DO WITH ITUNES.

Oct 9, 2013 2:48 AM in response to biowizardby Crissydrips,WEll then this does not apply to you then, just suggesting what worked for me. I logged into my iTunes through settings on my phone and it must have identified me. Sorry Brian

Oct 9, 2013 7:28 AM in response to biowizardby ruhavingfun,This is becoming very, very annoying. Would like to permanetly "Trust" my work computer (which will never have iTunes installed) just so that I can charge my iPhone, nothing more.

Oct 10, 2013 7:19 AM in response to JohnPaulWilliamby ericfromsellersville,This is a stupid security feature. It's unnecessary. Why would anyone NOT trust the computer they are plugging into? In fact, all operating systems have security features built into them. I am getting tired of these "well, small inconvenience for safety" morons. I am getting sick of Apple.

Oct 10, 2013 1:34 PM in response to biowizardby Locust76,Uninstalled iTunes, uninstalled "Apple Mobile Device Support," reinstalled iTunes, works fine.
I think something gets mucked up with the installed driver.

Oct 11, 2013 9:01 AM in response to StrayKattby jeffreyfromcooper city, same here - all I want to do is charge it because the battery on my 4 lasts only a few hours unless constantly plugged in

Oct 11, 2013 11:12 PM in response to Locust76by Mosquito1946,If you have iTunes on Windows (mine is XP Pro SP3) I found that if I authorised the computer under the iTunes menu, it told me the computer was already authorised, but nevertheless the "Trust this Computer?" messages stopped.
Not much help to those not using iTunes though.

Oct 12, 2013 2:02 AM in response to JohnPaulWilliamby MS1961,I have iPhone 4 with IOS7 and have routinely connected this to Windows7 PC to extract photos etc. I have this problem and I solved it doing two things:
1. uninstalled all Apple software (including Bonjour etc) - I don't use this PC for iTunes so this was not a big deal;
2. turned the iPhone off and on and then reconnected it.
I was then told Apple Device mgr was installing (from the iPhone, I presume) and then asked whether I wanted to open Windows file Explorer every time the iPhone was connected. I THINK THIS IS THE PROBLEM MANY OF US FACE...... when I first upgraded to IOS7 and later connected to my Windows PC, i was in a hurry and I skipped or denied the Windows PC the opportunity to open Windows Explorer when the ipHONE was connected. Having done that the first time, it took my instruction to never do it again. Hope that works for some of you.

Oct 16, 2013 9:30 AM in response to rodrigoplantby ladooley,A thousand Thank You's rodrigoplant! Your solution was simple, concise & best of all, WORKED!! FYI to anyone else with this problem:
I'm running windows 8, didn't have iTunes installed and was asked every time I connected my iPhone 5c to "trust this computer", so it is not an iTunes problem. I installed iTunes & tried a couple of the other suggestions, none of which worked. So, it's not an iTunes problem. It is a problem with the Apple Mobile Device Driver. If you're on a Windows PC, follow the steps outlined by rodrigoplant (copied below) & stop the annoyance. No more asking to trust the computer & phone still charges just fine.
C:\Program Files\Common Files\Apple\Mobile Device Support\Drivers
Right click on "usbaapl64.inf", hit "Install" and wait for the magic.
