Click once with three fingers and then drag. Check preferences for trackpad if that doesn't work and make sure the 3-finger drag option is checked. I looked for this for a long time....

I've managed to figure out the click once then hold and drag option, but it is with one-finger. I have no options for three-fingers, just the standard settings. It still doesn't left-click hold and drag yet. Thanks for the help though.

Yes you can mate.
Tap and hold your thumb in the bottom left corner of the trackpad (or bottom right corner for you lefties out there) and keeping your thumb in place slide another finger (index maybe) around the trackpad.
You will never run out of track pad space as you can take your index finger off and on the track pad as long as your thumb remains in place.
If I didn't explain myself clearly then check this link.

After upgrading to Mavericks I had this problem. I found the solution was:
Go to System Prefs Accessability pane.
Within that choose Mouse & Trackpad, then click Trackpad Options.
Check box to "Enable Dragging" and choose "with Drag Lock" (or without), try both and see what works for you.
