You can't. Put them in a folder.

You cannot delete Passbook or any other built-in Apps from the iPhone.

Your best solution may be to put them all in a folder on the last page of Apps.

This is stupid.  We should be able to remove built-in apps that we have no desire to use because that's wasted space on what is in MY case an iTouch.  It's not even an iPhone so what possible good does it do me to be able to call up my bank account information or any such thing when I'd have to connect to a free wireless network... and not living in a BIG city, those aren't everywhere even if I did want my iTouch connecting to strange networks at random.

Another futile attempt by Apple to totally control users.  Time to start shopping other smart phones.  I've had enough.

Every time I use iTunes I get mad.  It's about the most user-UNfriendly program I have ever used.

Well, while I don't agree with you that iTunes totally *****, I do think we should able to remove stuff like Passbook if we don't use it.

I am infuriated that Apple would put baked-in apps such as passbook on my phone and force me to keep them there. I was ready frustrated about that when I opened passbook to find that it isn't even installed and I can't use it until I go to the App Store and spend my time installing it. What?!? So I have an App that a) I don't want  b) I can't delete and c) I have to spend time on it before I can even test drive it??  I think if Apple wants to bake in Apps and generate millions of dollars for third party companies, fine, but at least allow me to delete them if I don't want them. I never use passbook (mostly out of principal), newsstand or reminders. Apple needs to have more respect for their customers and stop insulting us with force fed Apps from whichever software company was as to get into bed with them.

If you don't like the way apple manufactures the software for the iphone or the features they "bake In" then simply do not buy the phone. There are dozens of other phones out there that may suit your needs. I dont use all the settings on my top of the line washing machine, but that doesnt mean that it washes the cloths any better or worse than a simpler machine. Apple makes a product and no one forces you to buy it. Why act like such a spoiled brat about it? Your kind of attitude is pathetic. If you dont like the app, then don't use it. If you dont like apple's methods, then don't buy the phone. But for the sake of sanity dont buy a product of your own free will and then complain about it. GROW UP !!!!!!

It is HILLARIOUS to me that you have taken personal offense to a suggested software improvement, turned it into a person attack and then told me to "grow up".  You obviously don't have any product production experience if you think that users should just 'accept' aspects they don't like instead of giving feedback for improvement.  Still laughing...

Never mind the idea of buying another smartphone (after paying for this one?), or saying "dont buy a product of your own free will" (bit too late by the time you realise that some quite unnecessary apps are built in), the question some of us have is: "OK, Apple, you insist that we keep these apps, but why?".  Since they never answers questions like that, some of us feel that perhaps the Apple logo should be two raised fingers.

Apple should have the peace symbol as their logo?

The system apps are part of the base OS so they can cross applications for access.

I couldn't agree more.  I have an ipad for everyday use, an iphone for mobile use and all I want is as much music as possible on my ipod touch.  Valuable space is taken up with apps for stocks, weather, passbook, maps, calculator, etc. etc.  I am furious about this.  From now on I need to reconsider android devices.

Coleman you are missing the point.  On my ipod, I want all the gigs for music. I don't appreciate it filled with ios apps that cannot be deleted and that are on my other devices.  One should have the FREEDOM TO CHOOSE which apps one wants on various devices.  Sure pre-load them but then allow the user the freedom to delete them if they are deemed unnecessary.

Furious? Seriously? The average app takes up about 23 mb of space. So you have two or three fewer songs. Hardly seems worth getting even mildly miffed. Definietly doesn't seem worth creating and account resurrecting a thread that's been dead for more than two years. You generally can't remove pre-installed apps on Android phones, either.
