Oct 19, 2012 5:07 AM in response to mende1by Tlindeman,If you are opening a file for which preview is the default viewer for in the finder, you want to access that file, not view the icloud / on my mac open window. Not only does this window open, but it opens on top of the window showing the file you are opening, causing you to have to click cancel every time, to get to work.
Suggestion to apple:
- When opening preview app from finder display icloud / on my mac open window
- When opening file from the finder do not display this window as it can be accessed easily enough from file > open.

That's exactly the way Preview works for most of us. I don't know why you and Robert Loch2 are experiencing something different.

Nov 28, 2012 8:28 AM in response to Robert Lach2by Philippe Bonneau,Same thing here. Verry annoying! Make a Preview pref to enable disable this feathure.
Switching off Document and data in iCloud is not the solution.
I need iCloud but I want to decide myself when.

Oct 19, 2013 12:36 PM in response to Robert Lach2by Robert Paege,I've had the same issue bugging me since installing Snow, er, lion, er, cat, er, cougar, er, Mountain Lion. Incredibly ANNOYING.
It's stupid stuff like this and reverse scrolling that really turn long-timer users off. I'm personally glad Forstall got fired for blunders such as these.
I'm serious peeved that turning off iCloud Documents & Data actually deletes documents and data locally. That's just incredibly stupid.
MANY thanks mende1 for the answer on how to fix it.

Oct 19, 2013 2:01 PM in response to Philippe Bonneauby Eric Root,Send Apple feedback. They won't answer, but at least will know there is a problem. If enough people send feedback, it may get the problem solved sooner.
