Q: Can't access iTunes store from my Mac

Recently installed iTunes version 11, after deleting the previous version I had. (On my MacBook Pro)

Now I'm unable to access the iTunes store. Every time I click on 'iTune Store' the page goes blank. No error message.

Does anybody have the same problem or any advice?

Thanks!

MacBook Pro, Mac OS X (10.6.8)

I had two other DNS Servers listed: 208.67.220.220 and 208.67.222.222. Do I delete those and only have 8.8.8.8 listed or can all three of them be there? What exactly do they do?

It is google's public DNS servers (8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4).  I have only one DNS server, so I am not sure if you can use both three of them, but I think it is better to keep your existing two and add 8.8.8.8 or 8.8.4.4

I am having this same issue on my Macbook and my work desktop, but my work laptop works fine.  Just upgraded to Mavericks and the newest iTunes, and I am still having the issues...

this is how i solved it:

1- Open iTunes, go to Preferences and than to Parental Control. There, if it's not, you check iTunes Store and Allow Access to iTunes U

Close preferences, quit iTunes, Open iTunes again, do the same as above, uncheck both, and close Preferences.

2- open mac prefences , and click account.

under the main user, there is a new option: apple id

    connect with your apple id.

now itunes works fine for me

I don't see any options for #2. When I open System Preferences, I don't have a simple "Account" option. I see iCloud, internet accounts, users & Groups, etc. Am I in the wrong place? I also upgrated to OS X Mavericks.

I already had my apple id there. I deleted it and added it back. Still no luck signing into iTunes.

I called apple support about this last night.  We created a new user group on my mac and I could sign in from there, so there is something in your user blocking the ability to sign into iTunes.  Just haven't figured out what it is.  My guess is that its buried and will have to do a system restore to get this back...

Yeah same here. I have already created a new user and was able to sign in there, but hate to have to resort to that. My wife and I share a library, but have seperate iTunes accounts and only one shared Mac user. She has no problems signing in on here. Only me.

I have the same problem since updating itunes on my mac pro, Can't log in to cloud or app store, can't use support and can't authorise the pc which is strange because I never un authorised it. My tablet and laptop (not yet updated) both work fine.

I had a similar problem with a blank sscreenshowing when I clicked on "App Store" or "Podcasts" tabs.  I was having all kinds of provlems in the iTunes Store in general with content not showing as well as not being able to log into my account.

I'm using a Mac and changing the cookie blocking settings in Safari did the trick for me.  Check out this article for details:

    http://support.apple.com/kb/TS3388

After changing the cookie settings and quiting Safari I restarted iTunes and everything works.

I ran through everything in this thread and nothing else helped my situation.  I hope this helps with some of the problems above.

Thank You! I thought I tried that before, but I followed the steps, and actually reset Safari and I can now sign in to iTunes.

Well I thought I had the problem solved. I followed the steps on Safari and it did let me sign into iTunes but every time I tried to do anything, it would ask for my password and give me the same error.
