Q: WiFi dropping issues

A few months ago my WiFi would stop working every now and then, usually after waking up the computer.  The only way to re-establish the connection was to reboot the computer or go into the network settings and turn the WiFi off, and then back on.

This problem seemed to get worse as time went on.  As of last week I would lose the WiFi everytime the computer was put to sleep and it would even drop after more than 10-15mins of normal use for no reason at all.  I say dropped, but if I looked at the WiFi settings it still showed it was connected (green) in the network settings even though I couldn't connect.

I must of read a couple hundred posts on this vary topic and tried a ton of different things to remedy the situation.

Someone suggested that this was a known issue and easily correctable by upgrading to 10.8.5 .... THEY WERE WRONG.

What now?

iMac, OS X Mountain Lion (10.8.5)
