Q: SDXC card slot not reading sandisk card

hello,

i'm new to macbook... i have a macbook air mid 2012 and i'm trying to import pictures from my sandisk ultra memory card and the mac doesn't show it on finder. also tried with another sandisk hx card and it doesn't recognize it either. have you guys had this issue?

MacBook Air, OS X Mountain Lion (10.8.5)

Here is information about the SD card slot on the MacBook Air:

My guess is your particular card may not meet the specs outlined in that article.
