What is the best disk cleaning/system optimization software for my 13" MacBook Pro (2.9 GHz Intel Core i7 w 8 Gb RAM)? I am leaning toward MacKeeper based on what I have read so far?

3rd Party Cleaning Software is Not Required and can cause more issues than they claim to cure.

If you learn how your computer works and how to repair/replace it's software, you can do the best by simply backing up what you want and dumping everything else (OS X, programs, old unwanted files) and start fresh again.
A booable clone makes this a cinch if it was made while the machine was freshly installed.
A few tricks, like maxing your RAM and paritioning your boot hard drive 50/50 and only using the first one, don't install crapware, don' expect more than it can handle, will keep your machine running fast forever. At least until a OS X upgrade kills it.

If your looking for privacy/cache cleaning for corrupted caches there is CCleaner for Mac and OnyX over at Macupdate.com. (both free). 10.8 users and above will need to control key click on software from the web to "open" it to run.
