Q: Dvd Driver Problems.. iMac late 09

SO basically... i have had my mac for nearly 4 years now... (wow), and for a while now my mac hasnt been able to read DvD's..

It decides to crank around for 15-20seconds then spit the Dvd out..?

However... it seems to read and load CD's perfectly fine...

the main reason i am here is because i want to restore my imac back to factory settings but i cannot because it will not read my Os X Lion disk it just spits the poor thing out... i have tried resetting the PRAM and that doesnt work, also Repair the Disk permissions and still no luck... Does anyone know a solution to this?, it is really frustrating , and if need replacing does anyone know of a price?

Thankyou

OS X Mountain Lion (10.8.5)

Another help source (if you haven't already done so).

Go to your OS Help Menu.  In the search field type dvd

Click on all the troubleshooting topics & Support Articles that pertain to  your issue.

You can also do the same in Disk Utility.  Open same up.

At the bottom left of the window, click on the purple button w/the "?" in the middle.

This will bring up the Help Menu.
