Oct 22, 2013 10:42 AM in response to Joe Grammby marthafromlas cruces,I called before ordering and I did get the correct ram. We checked all the specs from my sysem profiler, etc.
I just told my husband, who will be doing the installing about the click. It should be here in about 3 days. I'm hoping my computer will then run more smoothly and even more quickly.
Thanks, Joe. I'll post back here with either a HELP or a positive update.

Oct 22, 2013 10:45 AM in response to marthafromlas crucesby Joe Gramm,Keep in mind the click was just an example to emphasize the importance of getting the module seated properly. You'll be fine I'm sure.

Oct 22, 2013 11:02 AM in response to Joe Grammby marthafromlas cruces,I understand. We have bought an airport card for our old eMac and it took us quite a while to get it "seated" properly so it would work.
Now the old eMac is too old to work well online anymore but what a good computer it has been since 2003.

Oct 24, 2013 2:57 PM in response to Joe Grammby marthafromlas cruces,I have great news! I ordered 8 GBs of ram and my husband added it to my 4 and now I have 12 GB and my computer is running faster! If I need I can order 4 more but that's in the future!
Thanks for your help!

Oct 24, 2013 3:15 PM in response to marthafromlas crucesby Csound1,Good to hear, and you can add 4GB more but only by replacing the 2x2GB chips with 2x4GB, so you'll need to buy 8GB as 4GB will be coming out to make room.

Yes, you can install 32GB if you want (4x8GB)
Buy the RAM from OWC, there is no guarantee that any other vendor's will work.

Except for Crucial.com which often is less expensive.

Feb 16, 2015 11:47 AM in response to Old Toadby Csound1,I will disagree, I have occasionally found Ram from Crucial not to work, I have yet to have that occur with OWC, so I am happy to pay more for OWC.

Feb 17, 2015 1:40 AM in response to Csound1by Wildflanders,So I am going to do an insvestment of 160€ on your good word when someone else in this forum is telling me the opposite information... Maybe a, "I have done it myself and it works" or a "I work for apple and I can confirm" would have put me a bit more at ease...
