I am using Pages 09 with my imac.  I have created in document to form a collection of stories some 71 pages long which will eventually become a epub and a pdf file;

1. Is there a way to have video play in a pdf file?

2. When I select insert a 'table of contents', I get an message saying that none of the styles necessary have been used in my document.  How do I correct that? I need a table of contents that will update page references as I add or remove stories.

3.  I understand that in order to move stories, I have to create 'sections' in the thumbnails and then move the sections to a different location.  Am I right in thinking that to insert a cover page, or table of contents, I would create new pages at the end of my document and then create them as section and then move them to the front of my document?

4. If I did #3, how would I have those pages ie., front cover and table on contents not be a part of the page numbering system?

Any help appreciated.

    1. You can't as far as I know.

    2. Use a paragraph style on the text and in the Inspector palette > doc tab > TOC > check the style so it appears in the TOC. You can read more about it if you download the Pages User Guide from your Pages Help menu.

    3. When using a word processing document you don't have to use the Section route. You can select the text you want to move and then drag it to another location in your document, or use Copy and Paste to move it.

    For creating the TOC you only need to click somewhere in the beginning of the document where you want the TOC and then go Insert > Table of Contents. The text behind will move. no need to add a page first.

    4. For this you add the section break and in the inspector palette > Layout tab > sections > First page is different
