Well, that is terrible... hopefully Apple will get on this issue right away and bring back support for all of these products. Until then, I guess I'm going to have to deal with garageband

It's quite usual for Avid to only update their most recent pro tools release to work with the newest os. Not really anything to do with apple. Avid have had access to builds of 10.9 for months now but even their most recent version of pro tools 11 doesn't work with 10.9. Pro tools 8 is now pretty old so it's very unlikely that they will update it to work with 10.9. I'm afraid your only options are upgrade pro tools or downgrade your os by doing a fresh install. For future reference I always try to do a full disk backup before any upgrade with disk utility, so I can go back if the worst happens.

Pt8 works on mine Macmini which I just Updated form Mountain Lion to Mavericks. I used Mbox Micro as interface. Haven't tryied with mbox 2 pro.
You must have the latest PT8 version which is something like 8.05. That was the update for Mountian Lion.
You will also have to have the PT10 interface drivers intalled. Midi drivers won't work. If you have them installed and try to use Logic, it won't start until you have trashed them.
Hope this helps

@cuepo You're a lifesaver. Thanks for this. Further to your post... I've upgraded to Mavericks and I'm running Pro Tools 8.0.5 and Logic 9.1.8. with an MBOX one.
Instead of trashing all the drivers, I trashed everything but "DigidesignMbox2MIDI.plugin" and everything is working perfectly with MIDI in both DAWs.
Hope this helps!

I already had Pro Tools M-Powered 8.0.5 installed when I upraded to Mavericks on my Mac Mini i7 and on the first restart Mavericks prompted that my Pro tools would not work on this OS. It works GREAT! No problems at all. But I just bought a used Digi 002 and now trying to install LE on top of Mavericks. Looks like its not going to let me do that. Keep getting errors.
So maybe the trick is install Mavericks on top of existing Pro Tools and not Pro Tools on top fo Mavericks.
