Q: Will Authentec Truesuite be updated for 10.9?

I believe Apple purchased parts of Authtic. Anyone have any clue if Authentec Truesuite for the Mac will be updated or will work in 10.9 Mavrick?

Excuse the post, I didn't know where to ask!

Anyone with such knowledge would be under an NDA and unable to comment.

If you are using Authentec TrueSuite for Mountain Lion UNINSTALL the Pref Pane and all components before upgrading to OS X Mavericks.

During testing under earlier beta versions of Mavericks, the Eikon Fingerprint Reader did not function -- however when unplugged -- normal login was possible.

This afternoon the Public Release OS X Mavericks is no longer allowing normal log in even with the Ekon reader and TrueSuite software removed.  Evidently there is a legacy framework that is blocking normal login.

Even a SAFE BOOT does no allow Admin login -- and fails with a brief screen flash -- and no login fail behavior. Resetting password in Terminal yielded same results.

The Authentec website is no longer operational, and AppleCare had no information.

    That was real helpful. NOT!

If you were familar with the purchase you would know that the web sight they had was Self Service, but that just recently went away within the past two weeks.

    Thank you Michael!

I had problems for a small while with 10.8 won't be reconized. After unplugging it back in, it's worked very well.

I must say, some of the items you used goes over my head. All I know is that UPEK has abonded their framework.

I don' hear much if TrueSuite for the Mac would be updated as they recently took down their site.

Sent message to Tim Cook's executive team and no word yet.

Was merely suggesting that anyone who had previously used the Authentec TrueSuite successfully -- completely UNINSTALL the entire suite before attempting an upgrade to OS X Mavericks.

Anyone who leaves any of the previous software on the computer being upgraded risks being locked out of their computer after Mavericks installs.

There is an UNINSTALLER included in the TrueSuite disk image, which I have archived, in case.

I too left appropriate feedback suggesting that Authentec users should be supported within Mavericks. Given Apple's desire for increased security -- I'd expect our suggestions will receive added weight.

    Hope this helps.  Bestr regards

Unfortunately I didn't save the TrueSuite disk image. Do you know of any other way to completely remove the TrueSuite preference pane and all other related components?

Michael. Just uninstalled and upgraded to maverick.

Do you think it's safe. To install TrueSuite?

Hi RjinWI. Thanks for the suggestion. However, the internet archive unfortunately but understandably doesn't store file downloads, only flat HTML pages. The uninstaller can't be downloaded as such.

Could you perhaps post the exact URL that you used to download the file?

Unfortunately I came to this post to late, after updating to Maverick without uninstalling Truesuite.

So I am indeed locked out. When I start my Mac, I can see the logon page : if the eikon is plugged, it recognize my fingers start to login, but immediately come back to the logon page. If I unplug everything and type my password, I have the same result. Starting in safe mode doesn't help.

Any idea of what to do next ?

    Thanks for helping
