Q: OS X Mavericks failed to download

I am having this problem too! Is there a fix for this?

I have the same problem and my internet speed is fast.

It is because everyone in the whole world who owns a Mac is trying to update their computer at this point. Apple's servers are smoking hot right now because of that. That is why some people is getting this error. Just wait for some time, and then suddenly you'll be able to download the update. Patience my friend!

Yes, I thought about that too. However, I have now tried for several hours. The download starts and works for 30 or so minutes, which means that I am in the Apple servers and have bypassed some of the millions. 

Then when it looks like is almost installed, it stops and I get the error message. So I think is a bug.

I don't think it is a bug, i got this error earlier, but now it works just fine. Just wait a couple of hours!

I have been reading the forum and other sites and no surprise that bugs do creep in from time to time and need to be fixed. Any new OS will come with bugs and i think this is one.  Yes they will fix it and then we will be able to download, but I do not think that the problem is due to too much traffic. However, is good to let Apple know about problem, so they can fix it.

I have been having the same problem. This is the solution:

1. Quit the Mac App Store

2. Go to your Applications folder

3. Find the file "OS X Mavericks.appdownload"

4. Double click the file and Mac App Store should open and resume the download.

It is a pain doing this every time it fails, but atleast it continues from where it stopped.

Tried this, but mine restarts efter it has been resumed 3-5 times!

I have a similar problem, with the message "this application can not be downloaded. Check your internet connection and retry."

Nothing wrong with my internet.. Never had any trouble installing apps.

I think i found a fix if your problem is everytime you press upgrade it gives this error. First, open terminal, key this in this: open $TMPDIR../C/  then a folder will appear, delete the com.apple.appstore folder and then relaunch your Mac App Store. Mine is downloading now. hope it works! Good Luck to all!

Same problem here, everytime errors occured when I had downloaded ~950Mb.

I deleted the temp downloaded files in the $TMPDIR../C/ then I had downloaded again from the beginning, but it still occured.

May be we have to wait for sometime to see whether the server problem is true or not.

Hi, I replaced the pkg file after deleting it back to the same folder and restarted mac app store. My progress was restored.
