First off...your Canvas is set to view ALPHA + RGB...you need to turn that off. In the center of the canvas there are three drop down menu boxes...click on the one on the right, the one that looks like a box. Select RGB, and not RGB+Alpha. Then it should look normal.
As for the DV Matte Pro watermark...that will go away when you register the software.

I just found the email with the download on it.
I downloaded it again-didn't think it would still be good.
It didn't change anything.
There was nothing in the email that said anything about registering
or how to.
Still waiting to here from them.
It's the only thing holding this video up.

You can download and use the app all day, you'll still get that watermark. You'll need to enter a REGISTRATION NUMBER...a serial number...in order make that go away. You get that when you buy the product. But it is a very old product, and the company might be out of business, or no longer supporting that product, as it is only made for FCP Legacy, and that has been discontinued for over 2 years now.
I have DV Matte Blast, also from DV Garage. I have a SN for it in order to disable the watermark.

hmm. I have DV Matte Pro also. I looked up email records and couldn't find any serial number. Found the installer and ran it on my new mountain lion startup drive and used it in fcp7 without any issues. Doesn't seem to need a serial number as far as I can tell. Are you sure this isn't a demo version?
Does the email with the download info from them have a receipt for payment? Mine does.
And I upgraded from an earlier version in 2011 (not that long ago).
