While MS Outlook still works with my exchange server, I cannot add my Exchange email to Mail.app. It times out. Cal won't either. Both are unusable. Anyone else having this problem? Any suggestions? Please help!

Similar issue yes, works fine in Outlook 2011, but the iCal and address book are not working. Interesting it is working fine on iOS 7?

Try, instead of just using your user ID in the user name settings, try putting the domainname\user_id

This solved a number of issues over the past few months with some users including me, although the latest prodcution release of Mavericks I have removed the domain name and it works... Worth a try.

    Hi All,

I just deleted the account from Prefs / Internet Accounts. And then added my account again. Now works as expected. Result!

I've been having a bunch of problems connecting to my work Exchange server. It frequently times out or hangs getting new mail ("Loading") in mail window.

I have tried deleting the account, re-setting up, rebuilding mailbox. Using Outlook I have moved mail around so I have only about 2000 emails in my Inbox and moved all sub-folders out of Inbox as I found recommended elsewhere. This seemed to improve the situation a bit, but today it has started misbehaving again. Then I connected via VPN, replaced username with domain\username. I also disabled autodiscover in account settings. These steps helped for a while, and now it seems to work well even when not connected to VPN, but I don't expect it to last.

I think I will have to switch to Outlook for Mac, which I have installed and tried briefly, but it seems to keep syncing downloading/uploading to server 24/7. Besides, it would have been nice to have all mail available in OS X Mail app.

WHat is so frustrating is that Mac Mail gets progessively worse with each release whilst getting better in other areas at the same time. This is a serious tool for business and having to have Outlook for MAC open at the same time (so I get instant emails from exchange is just silly). I should make a side by side video

I have had to do the same and turn to Outlook 2011 for Mac. It seems to be sycning the new mail + all of the folders properly. It took s few days, but everything finally synced. The problem is that it can only sync 20 attachments at a time. Takes a long time, espescially with the size of my mailbox(s).

I am using Mavericks OSX 10.9

When I send a calendar invite to an Exchange recipient their 'accept or decline' is not recorded in iCal - there is no checkmark if the user accepts.

This is only an issue with Exchange not gmail or other apple users.

I confirmed this with Apple chat support
