I have tried to update ios7.2 and am now stuck with iTunes icon; arrow and charger icon...main computer not available only ipad. I use iCloud to sync generally.

How can I restore phone to operating mode?

    It is in Recovery Mode.

You need to connect it to iTunes on a computer.

Upgraded iMac to Maverick. Was updating iPhone 4S to the  newest iOS and got an error message. Tried everything -- restarting iOS  update in iTunes, restarted iPhone the tried update, restarted iMac and  iPhone (both with iPhone connected vis USB and without) and tried  restarting iOS update. Hangs and gives error message (see attached). My  iPhone is now a high-priced paper weight. What can I try next?

    Error 13, 14, 35 and 50 (or -50)

These errors are typically resolved by performing one or more of the steps listed below:

Perform USB isolation troubleshooting, including trying a different USB port directly on the computer. See the advanced steps below for USB troubleshooting.

Put a USB 2.0 hub between the device and the computer.

Try a different Dock Connector or Lightning Connector to USB cable.

    Eliminate third-party security software conflicts.

There may be third-party software installed that modifies your default packet size in Windows by inserting one or more TcpWindowSize entries into your registry. An incorrectly set default packet size can cause this error. Contact the software manufacturer that installed the packet-size modification for assistance. Or, follow this article by Microsoft to reset the packet size back to the default for Windows: How to reset Internet Protocol (TCP/IP).

Connect your computer directly to your Internet source, bypassing any routers, hubs, or switches. You may need to restart your computer and modem to get online.

Try to restore from another known-good computer and network.

Sorry to sound like a broken record but you need to consider doing what i did and move away from iphone.

What i can tell you is to enter DFU mode (look it up if you don't know) then restore the phone from there.

In the long run just get an android and say goodbye to itunes. I did it. Couldn't be happier.

My laptop was stolen and i now have over 1,000 pictures synced to my 4s that i can't get out. My G2,i just plug it in and can drag and drop whatever i want. No software. Nothing.

Did you try a different USB port?

    Different cable?

Do you have another computer you can update with?

Have you tried doing a reset on the phone?

Reset: Hold the Sleep/Wake and Home buttons and don’t let go until the screen goes dark and the Apple logo appears (no data will be lost)

Yeah, Axeman, did all of this. Don't have another computer. Gonna try reinstalling iTunes to see if that will make a difference.

I don't think so either. This is a USB error.

This is the article I quoted. There is a link USB Isolation Troubleshooting. Maybe it will help.

Using the DFU procedure (Google it) worked. I restored the iPhone and am now restoring all of my data and apps.
