Oct 23, 2013 1:57 AM in response to 05am4by gee38l,So frustrating... Its nearly been two weeks i have not been able to use it!
Before the update i actually spoke to an Apple engineer who got me to install a debug profile on my phone that logs imessage registration from the device, I have dumped the logs and emailed them to him so hopefully it gives some insight to whats actually going on.

Oct 23, 2013 7:24 AM in response to Seanm85by granjanerik,iMessage stopped working after iOS 7.0.3 and then reactivation failed.
The problem was solved after rebooting the device.
My advice is to reboot the device before looking for solutions elsewere every time your iDevice fails.

Oct 23, 2013 7:36 AM in response to granjanerikby zigaurre,I rebooted the device, turned it off and turned it back on, made a couple of hard reboots, reseted the network settings, switched WiFi and 3G off and back on... I think most of us here tried everything we could think of... and did so "before looking for solutions elsewhere every time our iDevice fails".

Oct 23, 2013 8:05 AM in response to zigaurreby granjanerik,Then I am sorry that it did not work for you. It worked for me and my advice actually helped a couple of my colleagues with this problem.

Oct 23, 2013 8:42 AM in response to Seanm85by VenomousDude,OK. The "Settings -> General -> Reset -> Reset Network Settings" worked for me. Even the "Reset all settings" didn't work. Only this did. What a pain in my rear. Congratulations Apple. You have created another Android customer. I was going to buy an iPhone 5S, but now, later this week, I will be throwing my iPhone 4 into the garbage can and buying a new Android phone. Good luck to all the Apple customers out there. Lol.

Oct 23, 2013 9:02 AM in response to Seanm85by bearmon2010,- Turn FaceTime or iMessage off and then back on in Settings.
- Launch Settings by tapping the icon on the Home screen
- Scroll down to Messages or FaceTime
- Toggle the switch from on (green) to off (white)
- Wait a minute
- Toggle the switch back to on (green)
- Wait for it to re-activate
It works for me. My number is activate with checked mark. Whew!

Oct 23, 2013 4:34 PM in response to Seanm85by Chatajack,I am on a iPhone 4. Any help please!! This is a very similar issue I had on 5.1.1 same thing. Then it seemed to sort out for a while. About 3 weeks ago is started again on iOS 6. I was very reluctant to update to iOS7. Service provider in Bermuda Cellone said to update to iOS7 but nothing. Did 7.0.2 and then today 7.0.3 but still the same message - waiting for activation - and to top it off it is no longer bring up the number at all! At least before it would show the number gryed out with no tick. This is for both FT and iM. Cellone has deactivated the acount and then activated but nothing. I have restored to factory 3 time since updating to 7.0.3 not including the x number of times prior to that. Still NOTHING!!! OMG!! I have tried everything that is on this chain plus everyother one out there NOTHING!! So frustrated!!!!
