Q: iOS 7 keep turned off my iCloud settings and asking my password

Hi,

I upgrade to iOS 7 the day before yesterday. Everything's fine until yesterday's morning. When I received a text message, I found it's shown under the tel number, rather than names from my contact list. Then I found all my setting in iCloud were turned off. I turned them on, and everything's fine after that. But today, it turned off all my settings again and stars to keep asking me sign-in my iCloud account. I checked my iCloud account settings, it seems correct for me. I can correctly get all the informations from iCloud. But it just keep asking my passwords...

Any ideas about this?

Thanks very much in advance,

    Hello guys,

I have the same issue ... I have an iPhone 4S, since I updated to iOS7, I started having this annoying "Sign to iCloud" prompt every few hours ... If I login, things keep on going well ... if I click on <Cancel>, then all the options in iCloud settings would be disabled ... and I have to enable them again ... I noticed this issue when I started seeing numbers instead of names in whatsapp and contacts ...

Right now, I think I found the problem (for my case at least), I have applied the simple fix, but I need to wait for few days to see if the popup shows up again or not, this way I will  make sure that this is for sure the solution to this issue ...

I will update you guys on the findings

    Regards

    Lewi

The iPad 2 has the same problem and Apple is still selling it.  In fact it's there best selling iPad.

The iPad does not have Passbook.  So far the best "solution" seems to be to disable iCloud documents and data.  That or reboot often.  Since restoring, my iPad 2 hasn't been having the problem unless I play a game.   Unfortunately also since restoring it causes to the Apple logo every other day.

It acted up again. A clean reset update still doesn't work. It prompted me for my iCloud Password and It came out during when I started playing Clash of Clans. I thought starting as a new device without turning on or using Find My iPhone would fix it but it doesn't.

It's interesting that you have mentioned that ... but I do get that password prompt many times while playing the same game, "Clash of Clans" ! .... most probably it's something that have to do with GameCenter login ...

Who else is having this issue and plays "Clash of Clans"?!?

Forget Clash of Clans, it's not related to this problem, it's just a coincidence that it even came up in the discussion. Other games have also been mentioned, but since CoC is so popular it's inevitable that it's mentioned.

Personally CoC does not stutter as much during Game Center login after 7.0.3 upgrade - but again that might just be a coincidence.

Guys, make sure to read back through the thread before posting. A lot of the questions and proposed "fixes" have already been answered and addressed (to no avail).

I will say it again, Clash of Clans is very relevant. Specifically by itself? No. But it's an app that is an absolute resource hog. Check your diagnostics and usage data when you notice the iCloud turns itself off. You will find low memory logs.

I make it a habit to close all apps before launching CoC and have had very few issues. It's been almost a week now since my iCloud has shut off. Find my iPhone as well. I believe keeping as much free memory as possible helps. iPhone 5 and 5s don't have this problem because they have more RAM.

My iCloud has also been successfully backing up lately. I have no idea why, dumb luck I guess. I certainly haven't done anything on my end except upgrade to 7.0.3.

iCloud backup working for anyone else? I consider a success when it backs up without a password prompt. Anyone else notice iCloud shutting off less frequently?

Few people are reading from the beginning, which is sad.

On my iPad Mini, where I originally experienced the problem, I deleted Hay Day completely. Have not been prompted for password, and have been successfully backing up since. It's been almost two weeks.

    Hi,

Since upgreading to 7.0.3, I haven't had any problem about my iCloud, Find My iPhone and iCloud Back up. You mentioned about the memory issues. It sounds reasonable for me. Thanks for information.

Since I did a complete restore and wiped my iCloud backup, I haven't had any password prompts and backing up has been working fine.  I did have iCloud turn off when playing a resource hog game that stores it's saves in iCloud's Documents & Data since then.  I just stopped playing the game and I haven't had an issue with iCloud since then.

My working theory is that iOS is running out of memory which causes iCloud to fail and eventually turn itself off.  I have no idea why it turns itself off, but that's the bug part.

My biggest issue now is that since doing the restore my iPad 2 springboard crashes every few day.  That might be a clue in itself since I think there's a memory leak somewhere.  My suggestion would be to restart the device anytime you want to play CoC or use any other resource intensive app.  That or shut off iCloud documents & data.

If you are getting password prompts on backup, turn off backups, delete the old backup, reboot and turn it back on.  Backups shouldn't really be affected unless your local iCloud data is corrupted in which case either removing iCloud or doing a restore should fix that.  It won't prevent iCloud from turning off when using resoure hogging iCloud compatible apps, but the password prompts should go away.

Upgraded to 7.0.3, let's see. Fingers crossed.

Status today; no password prompts since OS upgrade, but today (less than 48 hours since upgrade) all synced data lost, all iCloud sync buttons automatically turned to "off", iCloud backup automatically turned "off".

When I went to turn on iCloud backup, the newest backup was from two days ago few hours after OS upgrade.

I turned DnD off a while ago and it *seems* like that helped with the constant password prompting, but I think that's just a workaround. It did not remove the password prompts altogether.

Game Center login *seems* to stutter and lag less after 7.0.3 upgrade, but I have no hard data to prove this, it's just a feeling.

Any updates from people who have pointed Apple representatives to this thread? I'd like some input. (iPhone 5s is available in my country starting today and I would hate to sell my 4s as a defective device!)

We all sound like alcoholics... "Hi, my name is Oz and It's been 12 hours since I was prompted for my password again."

So. iPhone 4S 64GB. Issues since iOS 7 install back when it was released.

I do not know how to stop it from asking for password, but as for your contacts disappearing... I can help there.

    Go to:

    Settings

    >iCloud

    >> then turn off each area manually and when prompted tap "Keep on My iPhone".

This way when the ^€#%€ shuts off, you won't be missing all of your contacts. You can do this with a lot of the areas, but some just delete the data which is obviously not what we all want.

I have talked to 6 different apple support reps. Basically I yelled, screamed and hollered about the f-ing BS that we are all going through. Three of them told me "you are the only person that I have heard of with this issue." Which I think is BS!

Apple does not like to admit a glitch until they can fix it. Hold on to your butts, it will be a long and bumpy ride while we all take one in the back door!!!

Weird. It works fine with mine. What I did was:

    - turned off Do Not Disturb

    - delete CoC

    - turned on reduce motion
