I really miss a feature to always keep "merge all windows" active so that every new folder would be opened directly in a new tab of the already existing Finder window, never opening a new window. This should apply as well for the bin and for folders you open from other spaces and other apps like "open in Finder" in iTunes.

It would be great (like TotalFinder does). That is why I came here

If I can give you an advice, change the title of your request to something like:

"Always merge new Finder windows. How to?"

I am quite sure there is simple code to type in Terminal to acheive this.

Waiting for a reply, we can set a keyboard shortcut like cmd shift M to trigger the command "Merge all windows" in the finder menu bar
