Oct 24, 2013 5:30 AM in response to solrac139by TheSmokeMonster,try a PRAM reset http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1379

Oct 24, 2013 7:25 AM in response to TheSmokeMonsterby vkook,Sadly resetting the PRAM doesn't work.
Was the first thing I tried.
Many people was waiting during OS X Lion to this fix, it was fixed in Mountain,
really ridiculous. Maybe this time we need to wait one year again to use just an
external monitor.

I had to donwgrade the system to OS X 10.8.3 with the time machine to solve the problem and now I´m waiting for an answer, to try to update to Maverick again. THIS IS REALLY SAD

Oct 24, 2013 8:26 AM in response to solrac139by kjhooke,I have an LG2341 connected via a Rocketfish Thunderbolt to VGA connector. The max resolution supported only gets picked up if I have the monitor powered on first before I attach it to my MacBookPro (mid 2012). If I connect it and then power it on I only get default/low resolution options.
