Q: OS X Mavericks failed to download

Mine suddenly downloaded fine, all the way, without me changing anything. So perhaps we just had to arm ourself with patience.

I am in Thailand, and I too am having this problem. Have tried all day to no avail. Have restarted my computer and generally tried every trick in the book, but I still can't get it to download. Think those of us living in Asia will have to wait awhile longer...

Some providers have a 1GB data boundary, which limits users from downloading large files. Download and install vpn to fix it. You download should go smothly afterwards.

Gets almost to 1GB (995MB), then get the "OS X Mavericks failed to download; Use the Purchases page to try again." message.

Nothing on purchases page.

Restart, restart, restart. If from scratch, goes great to 995MB, then fails.

Restart, restart, restart. If from partially downloaded file (applications/OS Mavericks, double-click), then it restarts the app store and fails immediately. It doesn't think about anything, try anything, hang up on anything - it's just the failure message.

I understand the server being busy yesterday, but (a) today is today, and (b) it seems to be failing before it tries anything.

I just want airdrop so my students can zip papers and school work to the computer, from which it can be printed.

Fail.

I have been trying 5-6 times to download to my wifea laptop today, with the same error. But just now it downloaded fully and started to upgrade. I guess it has to do with all the zillions Macs that are upgrading right now.

I have tried more than 30 times over the past 6 hours.

And the line "use the purchases page to try again" - there is no mention of Mavericks on the purchases page.

I have restarted the computer four times.

That's not the problem. I can still download much bigger files without any problem at all.

Didnt work for me.... just wandering do i need 2 change the settings back or will there be any complications w it if i leave the settings as u suggested

Fail. It is not that the apple servers are overloaded, 72 hours later. It's not even connecting before it fails. It just fails. Immediately.
