I agree with Lawrence. I have my 5s set to use fingerprint ID and I don't mind the code being set to immediate as the fingrerprint unlocks immediately. I did have to delete and redo a couple of fingerprints before it worked as advertised.

The "immediate" requirement when using the fingerprint for passcode is extremely cumbersome.  During a phone call the phone locks and requires a fingerprint.  Even to end up a call or add a call can require a fingerprint scan.  I'll be disabling this feature until there is a fix.

Ok - Thanks I submitted the request.  Others please do as well so they can see the demand for this change.

I have been using this feature since day one and my phone has never locked in the middle of a conversation. I have never had to unlock the phone to end a call. There are three other new iPhones in our family and none of us has ever had the phone lock in the middle of a phone call. We will keep this feature enabled because it works great.

I agree with everyone else here. Very poor design to require the passcode as soon as I hit the lock button when I have Fingerprint turned on. I always hit the lock button before setting my phone down or putting it in my pocket so I don't burn battery or perform unwanted phone actions, and I almost always pick it right back up within 10 seconds to do something else.

Please rethink, Apple! The fingerprint tech is still imperfect (I often have to scan several times), so typing my passcode and/or scanning my thumb every time I do this has made my 5s slower than my previous iPhone.

Ok, so I thought 7.0.3 was supposed to fix this and allow a delay before the passcode is expected when fingerprint ID is switched on, but it still only offers "immediately" on my 5s.

www.apple.com/feedback, click on the appropriate link and let Apple know you would like a change, because Apple does not come to the forum for feedback.

Yup same updated and still have only one choice. Immediate.  The update stated was supposed to fix it. Obviously didn't. I am over it they have defiantly lost the bubble. Finger print is now disable on mine.  I am feeling I should of gotten the 5c.

I had and have again informed Apple about this.  However, I do think that under 7.0.3 the fingerprint recognition seems to work better/more accurately and more rapidly.  Might be my imagination, though and I did re-do all my fingerprints.

Completley agree that we should have the option to decide if we want it to be immediate or not, and feedback sent.
