My Contacts has field named "anniversary" as well as field named "birthday". I assume that the "birthday" exports into Calendar since I see the upcoming birthdays there.

In Calendar, the Birthdays is listed under Subscriptions.

I would like to create a Calendar similar to this named Anniversaries.

Can someone tell me if this is possible and how to do it?

Thanks in advance...

Later, I found discussions where it cannot be done.

    Hi TMaverick,

I have written an application to add anniversary dates to the Calendar application. It is shareware and you can try it for two weeks before purchasing. Dates to iCal 2 is a replacement for Apple's birthday calendar for the Mac OSX Calendar application plus much more. It has a range of features to allow the user to choose what, and what not, to sync to the Calendar application for all dates from Contacts.

    Best wishes

I tried your app with Mavericks, but it crashed. I did not try it before this OS upgrade. Do you have a replacement?

I just downloaded version 2.4.3 and it installed ok and did not crash. Thank you for this app.

John, I'm just discovering that Anniversary's no longer or now don't show up in Cal in Maverick, as I just added a new anniversary in Contacts, and it didn't showup.  Have read a number of discussions and see that they don't in Maverick and await your updated app for Maverick as putting in a 'dummy' contact called, First Name "Ted & Barb", Last Name "Anniv" and putting their anniversary in as a BDay for this contact is a pain.

Question, and here's the fun part.  Why is it that all of my previously entered Anniversary's show up in Cal?  There's about 40 of them showing up in Cal that were previously entered going back to just before Leopard arrived.  So where and how is it that they are showing up?

    Hi Ian,

Dates to iCal is not supported under Mavericks. It works for some people, but I cannot guarantee it.  I currently have a very limited time available to work on a replacement application but am working (slowly) towards it.

Previous dates the application created can be removed by opening Dates to iCal, unchecking the "Sync Address Book dates..." checkbox and quitting Dates to iCal.

    Best wishes
