You should be able to download it here:
Open the iTunes app > More > Purchased > Music
Be sure you are signed in with the same Apple ID that made the purchase:
Settings > iTunes & App Stores > Apple ID

I am sorry, this did not help me. The song I purchased will NOT show on any playlist on my iphone. I purchased a few songs and those are no problem ... the weird thing is that the song shows on all other ipods I owe but the iphone.

Just go to iTunes on your iPhone and download your content again.

If it is not on your phone and you are signed in, on your phone, with the same Apple ID that made the purchase then you should be able to redownload it directly to your phone as I explained in my previous post.
You can also download it to iTunes on your computer and sync it to your phone.

Yes, I only have one account and use the same one. Also, if I do not check some of the song playlists my phone is "full" and I am unable to even enter a calendar entry. On top of that, I tried to update my iPhone 4S and now I need to restore it, it shows the USB connection and the iTunes logo and I do not know what to do. This is getting so frustrating....what is going on? Any simple ideas on how to correct it all?

This means you are in Recovey Mode.
You need to connect to iTunes and restore.
