    I did a reboot thinking the missing tab was some sort of new install glitch. Everything about Mavericks shows wonderful forward thingking EXCEPT THIS. I find it hard to imagine the mindset of the decision makers on the move to elimate direct sync. A very foolish decision. Bring it back. It's not a feature. It's a computing necessity for some of us. BRING IT BACK!

    Along with every other concern noted above, I fix client iphones mail accounts from time to time. account corruptions of one sort or another. I used to just delete accounts and "replace information on this phone" in the info tab to correct any configuration issues. CAN'T DO THAT ANYMORE! What a time consuming pain now.

    Although my concern is not as serious as reply above me, I still need this function very much.

    I'm a business man travelling around alot. I feel very frustrated that I need to look for wifi access whenever I went to new place just because I need to sync some data from my iPhone to my computer.

    This also cuts off older devices from syncing ever again, like the iPhone 3G I gave to my girfriend. This also forces to always have a data connection available. Of everything, I think this is something big that really should be addressed as soon as possible by Apple.

    iCloud is a mess..

    By this "new innovation" that Apple made to itunes, i forced to use icloud for syncing mail and contacts..

    BUT, icloud wants you to create a new alias for your mail like( test @ icloud.com) that it is connected with your apple id. Even worse if you have multiple mail accounts from different mail providers you cannot use them with the icloud syncing. you have to forward your mail for example from yahoo to icloud in order to be syncronized with mac and ios.. BUT again if  you are using the mail app with the icloud account and you have forward your mail, you can't compose a message  for example from yahoo account. in order to do this you must configure manually the imap/pop settings on mac and ios...

    iCloud is an online storage mechanism and apple cant force all these users to store their data on a mechanism that dont work properly at least with mail,  and also for security reasons. I hope someone from apple staff will give us an official answer for all this messages in this topic. if apple dont do anything about this matter, bye bye apple and i hope that Steve Jobs will haunt you down.!

    Best regards

    Can we have this functionality back ?

    It is a necessity and not  all of us want to use icloud for privacy reason.

    Everybody,

    This is a user support community.  I don't know if Apple even reads it (although I would hope they would).  I think everyone who has posted here with their frustration should send the same message directly to Apple, as I have done.

    Here's the link I assume is the best path: http://www.apple.com/feedback/itunesapp.html.  If anyone has a better suggestion to get to Apple, let us know.

    I agree with all the negative comments about the missing "Info" tab, is very much need and required for me, this is not acceptable functionalit, if not done, I will be forced to buy a new alternative phone and tablet.

    I agree with everyone here. I have an iPod classic, but now with no way to add contacts and calendar info to it - THANKS APPLE! Why bother giving me an iPod with the ability to show this info, if you take away the only means of getting it there in the first place?

    Actually, it looks like you can stil do a wired sync with your iPod classic:  http://support.apple.com/kb/HT5871?viewlocale=en_US&locale=en_US

    It's those of us who have wifi-enabled devices who are out of luck (unless someone can figure out how to do the same thing Apple describes for the iPod with an iPhone).

    WendyRobin,

    Just now, I submitted feedback as you suggested.  Great comment!

    However, a couple of months or so I twice submitted feedback to Apple on this very issue.  Given the response was little more than confirmation the missing sync option was no longer supported, it seems highly unlikely that Apple is going to reverse their decision.  Hopefully, I will be proved wrong on this one.  We will see.

    The least Apple could have done was "FLAG" this change in the install information, so people could make an informed decission.  Not be open and upfront with users is a loss for respect and trust in Apple, no sure I can trust iClod for security and from data mining.

    Thanks for this, it's such a shame that it is a long-winded way to add data, when syncing would be so much simpler. I cant believe I have to do this everytime I change an appointment in my calendar :-(

    The biggest issue is that users cannot selectively have different subsets of their contacts and calendars between IOS devices; I like to have only selcted business contacts on my iPad, a unique set for a particular business trip overseas etc, while I have it all on my iPhone and iMAC, now that can't be done.

    It's a serious loss of functionality for us users who pay their bills,  but I think that is not Apple's interest, they are solely focused upon drive media data, any business use is striclty accidental.

    I hope they rebound and fix this iTunes sync problem for so many of their users, it's easily accomplished.

    I agree with all the comments here.  I can't believe Apple took this feature away without even flagging it.  I just submitted feedback as WendyRobin suggested.

    I often fly internationally and do much of my work on the plane, where there is no connectivity (yet).  Being able to add/change/delete/edit items on my calendars and contacts on my MacBook and sync them directly to my iPhone is crucial, as it allows me to be ready to use that info from my iPhone as soon as I land.

    Now my alternatives are:

    1. Go back to Mountain Lion (probably my best option);

    3. Enter everything directly on the iPhone while in flight (I don't think so);

    4. Look for WiFi as soon as I land (often not so simple), connect both my devices at the airport (expensive) and then wait for them to sync (wasting time).

    5. Use the Export/Import method for the entire Calendar and Contacts files (pain in the a**, plus huge potential for corruption when repeated often).
