Q: Can I change my iCloud email in iOS 7?

I just installed iOS 7 on my iPhone 5. My iCloud account used to be linked to an old email address, I had changed it to the new email address long before updating to iOS 7 and everything worked great. Now on iOS 7, it's displaying the old email for whatever reason, which I obviously can't use to log in anymore. I also can't seem to type in my current email.

Is there any way to get around this?

I, like everyone else, cannot log into ICloud, and also cannot get into any of the Cloud settings because of the wrong email address being shown as ID. My Itunes account and Apple account are fine,,,,i wish i had never opened an ICloud account....i am not getting email from Apple,,i assume the emails are going to the Cloud. I have a hard time understanding that Apple can create the quality devices,,,and have screwed up so badly with ICloud.

    Hi Ironboots,

So I tried to edit my Apple ID and primary email address to my old/invalid email address, but then Apple sent the email verification to that old email address, and I went back to square one because I don't have that email anymore in order for me to confirm.  Did you not run into the same issue?

Also, when you delete the iCloud account, are your pictures still in your phone?  I know that mine are backed up on the desktop, but I still would like to have them on my phone too.

    Thanks!!!

    Hi Marida,

You do not have to do the verification step. Once you change the Apple ID to the old email address, you can then delete the iCloud account using the current Apple/iCloud password. Then go back into the Manage Your Apple ID, change the Apple ID to the valid email address. Then go to your device, sign on to iCloud with the new Apple/iCloud ID and current password.

You will not lose your pictures. Once the iCloud account reloads to your phone, all the pictures that were there on the iCloud account will be there.

    Cheers,

The only thing you guys have to do to get over this problem is as following :

Just open the Terms and Conditions tab in Cloud in iOS 7 and agree to the contract

After that you would be able to delete any I'd easily without even requiring you to enter a password for the old id

I wish this helps all you guys

Hi may I enquire how to go to terms and conditions in iCloud? I went to iCloud.com and it only shows links to setting up iCloud. Thanks!

Your solution worked flawlessly to fix things between my iPhone 4S and iPad Mini2.

Thanks for sharing this in the forum !

The icloud ID is that of someone who stole my ipad. I can't remove it? When I try your work around it says Apple ID already in use. Has anyone come up with a solution? I've called apple and there still working on it.

When I tap on to view the terms & conditions on iCloud it's saying that it's unable to connect to server,

This is frustrating as I have done all the above & have no luck..

I've also asked our tech support at work to help with the response good luck in capitals

I can even j/break it & restore it that way...

    Bloody Apple are hopeless
