Q: Is there any way to customize the size of windows in the presenter display?

I have updated keynote to the newest version (6.0). Unfortunately, it doesn't look like I can customize any part of the presenter display. I can add or remove windows/panels, but not resize them. Is there really no way to do this? That would be a major drawback and would certainly make me consider going back to a 4+ year-old version of Keynote.

I have downgraded (actually upgraded) back to keyonte 5.3 because of the presenter display issue. Apple needs to fix this ASAP!

I give presenations several times a week and need to have the objects in presenter display costomizable.

I have left feedback here about the issues with Keynote 6. If everyone here does that, maybe they'll do an update that will fix the problems. The #1 problem for me is the lack of a customizable presenter display. I cannot and will not use it without that feature.

I also agree with all of the previous posts. I need to see the presenters notes - actually I can't get Keynote 6 to work on a second display right now...

5.3 should still be on your computer. Mine is in \Applications\iWork ’09.

I have to go back to 5.3, too. Presenter View is completely unusable to me in 6.0. The notes are worthless, only showing two lines or so of text.

It really makes you wonder if anyone who actually makes presentations for a living tested this.

I want to echo my disappointment with the inability to adjust windows in Presenter View.  The new program has some great new features, but this omission makes it unusable for anyone doing real presentations.

Same problem here, so I wanted to go back to keynote 09' but now the presentations I opened up in the new, tell me that they can't be opened in the old program.   Plus I use Airparrot for my displaying on secondary monitor, and I get this error; you don't have enough vram memory to display"  so now my airparrot won't work, and I have a presentation in the morning!!!   arrrrgghhghhhggghhhh!

Use the export function in Keynote '13 (Keynote 6) to generate a file that is compatible with Keynote '09 (Keynote 5).  Then do not open that again in Keynote '13 but open it in Keynote '09.

(No idea how to help with the Airparrot problem.)

Thank you much for that, at least now I can use my presentation in the 09, version.  I also figured out my airparrot issue by turning on "use expose" in Keynote preferences.

Too bad I can't use the new Keynote, for me it is worthless for presentations if I can't customize my presenter note pane.  When presenting I have to have more than about 4 lines of text, I need it to take up at least 1/3 of the screen if not 1/2.

It makes no sense to me that they would call something an "upgrade" and remove previous features, especially the best feature the  program has/had.

Me too! I am lecturer and I need to see more of my notes. The same goes for my business presentations.

    Please fix asap.

SOLUTION - click the icon with the three blocks in presenter mode, and UNCHECK everything but the presenter notes box.  Doing so will automatically resize the presenter notes to full screen.

I had to give a presentation this morning, and about an hour before I started, I started rehearsing.  Well, I noticed with lack of customization for presenter notes as you are all complaining about and immediately panicked.  I exported back to Keynote 09, but lost the new transitions and I was seriously panicked at that point because I had more than just 2 piddly lines of notes in my slides.

Anyway, I started messing with it and found the solution above and gave my presentation.  On one hand I kind of miss the ability to see what the next slide will be, but on the plus side, I can see ALL of my notes now since it's full screen.  I agree that the lack of customization is a head scratcher, but at least you can uncheck stuff and see your notes fullscreen which is what everyone here is wanting I think.  This new way makes it "simpler" I guess, but there is no real indication that by unchecking things it will automatically resize.  Whatever, the above solution got me through my presentation without any problem.

Other people have pointed out that approach before.

In computing, we call that a workaround, not a solution

This workaround also only applies if the presenter notes are the only thing you need.

It does not replace presenter display customization.
