Q: Mavericks and iTunes 11.1.2 Won't wifi sync iPhone

Since updating to Mavericks and iTunes 11.1.2 itunes no longer recognizes either my iphone or ipad via wi-fi.

I have plugged them in and toggled the checkbox to no avail.

I have even restored my iphone.  No deal.

If I plug them in, then I can sync.  But even with the box checked to sync over wi-fi, as soon as I unplug the phone, it loses connecton.

I have also rebooted the phone and restarted my computer.

The sync over wi-fi opton is completely unavailable.

Just saw your post and checked mine.  It's back as well.  Funny thing is, I checked a couple of hours ago and nothing.

I dont think so. Presumably the next update of itunes 11.1.3 may solve the described problems - at least i hope so (and that we dont have to wait for too long for the fix).

I'm having the same problem, 2009 Mac Mini, was running Lion, now upgraded to Mavericks and even though I have wifi sync turned on it won't show up in iTunes.  I'm running newest iTunes too.  Had no issues with wifi sync before the mavericks upgrade.  I have an iPhone 4S running newest iOS7.

Same here. Since installing OS X 10.9 Mavericks and iTunes 11.1.2, our three iOS devices (an iPad and two iPhones) will not appear in iTunes or sync over Wi-Fi. It worked fine before. The devices can still be managed and synced via USB, though.

Things I tried: Unchecked and rechecked the "sync over Wi-Fi" checkbox for each device; rebooted the devices, computer, and router; downloaded and reinstalled iTunes; deleted ~/Library/iTunes and all related plist files in ~/Library/Preferences; turned Wi-Fi off and back on.

One observation: This article suggests using Activity Monitor to force-quit AppleMobileDeviceHelper as a troubleshooting step, but I don't see that process running at all, whether iTunes is running or not, and I don't know if it even still applies to OS X 10.9 Mavericks or iTunes 11.1.2.

I do not want my data to iCloud, I want my home on my computer or NAS.

I hate Cloud and iCloud too, I do not want the NSA and merchants can rummage through my business

More, sometime I have an internet that run like a snail.

Thanks for the information, cmzx, buit it's not related to this discussion. The issue being discussed here is that, for many people, our iPhones and iPads are not appearing under "devices" in iTunes unless they're connected via USB, but they did appear before installing OS X 10.9 Mavericks and iTunes 11.1.2. as long as all devices were on the same Wi-Fi network. Not being able to sync photos, music, videos, apps, books, etc. over Wi-Fi is an extension of that problem. I don't see how the removal of the "info" tab along with calendar and contact syncing in iTunes is relevant.

    A restart worked for me.

My story is the same as others. I updated to Mavericks and iTunes 11.1.2. At that point iTunes didn’t see any of my devices over Wi-Fi (2 iPads and an iPhone). They always appeared prior to that. I connected the iPads by cable and synched them (those syncs took a much longer time than usual). After that iTunes still did not see the devices over Wi-Fi. I then futzed around with every thing I could think of. Nothing worked. I couldn’t remember if I had restarted or not so I finally did a restart. Then, lo and behold, the devices all are showing up in iTunes. And the Wi-Fi sync is working just fine.

A restart doesn’t seem to work for everybody so I really don’t know what the secret sequence is to get this working. But the capability for Wi-Fi sync is still there.

Facing similar issues here with my iPhone 4s and my mbp. I force wifi sync on my iPhone and it just hangs and won't sync. iTunes doesn't detect it aswell, unless i use a cable.

Aside all the hints given here, the only thing i have yet to try is a Factory reset on my iPhone. But i'm not that sure this will work, since this only started hapening after these latest updates of iOS, iTunes and Mavericks.

I also have all the latest updates of iOS, Mavericks and iTunes.

Have anyone tried a factory reset already? If so. did it work?

I've got the same problem as described in the original post - that is USB sync working, WiFi sync NOT working.

When I turn on the device (iPhone or iPad) this turns up in the console log:

Does anybody else get the same errors ?
