Q: do i have to buy the new keynote update?

Hello Apple Team,

I updated my MacBook yesterday to the OS X Mavericks, bacause of a conversion problem with my old Keynote App on my Mac (OS X Mountain Lion 10.8.5) and the new Keynote App on a iPad of my coworker.

I thought with the update to OS X Mavericks, will the system update iWork (Keynote, Pages, Numbers) & iLife (iPhoto, iMovie, Garageband). Hope that someone can anwser and help me quickly.

Regards

Alexander

    Hi SpeedyAlex,

Thanks for visiting Apple Support Communities.

If you have iWork '09 installed on your computer and have upgraded to Mavericks, you should be able to update to the latest version using the Mac App Store.

First, make sure the apps are added to your App Store account if you haven't already:

OS X Mavericks: Updating disc-installed versions of Apple apps via Mac App Store

    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT5975

When you first open the Mac App Store in OS X Mavericks, it will check to see if you have a DVD-installed (or bundled) version of:

    • Aperture 3.x
    • iMovie '11
    • iPhoto '11
    • Keynote '09
    • Pages '09
    • Numbers '09

If the apps are found, they will be listed with the other Mac App Store updates, and you will be prompted for your iTunes Store password. The apps will be added to your iTunes Store account.

Once you've completed this step, update your applications in the Mac App Store:

OS X: Updating OS X and Mac App Store apps

    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1338

    Best Regards,

    Jeremy

    Hi Jeremy,

Thanks for the answer. I opened the Mac App Store in OS X Mavericks and check in. I can download and update other Apps and for Keynote, Pages and Numbers the Store wants again for each 17,99 €. I don't know why I could only update the Apps.

    Best Regards,

    Alex

Are your iWork Apps in a separate folder?

If they are, copy them directly in the application folder.

Wich language are you using? German I guess, because of "€"?

I solved this problem for me with changing the language of my MacBook Pro to english, reboot and after that I was able to update the iWork Apps without beeing charged again.

Keynote, Numbers & Pages are in the "application folder/iWork". Should I copy them direct to the "application folder/" ???

And yes I'm living in Germany and the language on my MacBook is german. Firstly I copy the Apps directly in the application folder and change the languages. Hope it'll work.

    Have fun.

    https://getsupport.apple.com/GetproductgroupList.action

Kategorie "Apps & Software" -> "Mac Apps" -> "iWork"
