Oct 25, 2013 2:23 PM in response to Paulo Carrascoby VisualPro,Paulo,
One of the things that Apple did have me do... which didn't work for me... is check to see if you have any alternate apple ID's associated with your account https://appleid.apple.com
If so remove them and try again. In your case maybe this will work. The problem with the certificate could be on the apple side not matching up.
Hope this helps.

Oct 26, 2013 11:57 AM in response to Andres Hidalgoby Photobyjonson,YES!
For me the problem was time zone related. I saw that the time was wrong after the maverick install so I change that and didn't think more about it. But in the top of this discussion someone wrote about this kind of problem. I checked and my time zone was California time and I live in north Europe. I change this to auto if I remember right you can set time and time zone in two places in the time settings. after this my password was accepted and know it works again. try this before you reinstall.

Oct 26, 2013 12:13 PM in response to Andres Hidalgoby xafar,Well the GOOD news is that my problem is resolved, and now both iMessage and FaceTime works in Mavericks
I am using MBPr 15" (mid 2012), and did following things that did NOT help :
- Changed my time/timezone to automatic (no help, but I left it that way)
- Logged out of iCloud and re-logged in, no change
- Tried to log in with both my @mac.com and @me.com ... and both didnt work
- Tried to login with someone else's Apple ID, even that didnt work
- Restarted several times, used different WLANs (including open networks without proxies) ... no help
Finally, keeping time / timezone to automatic, all I did was that I run the Install OS X Mavericks Apps again on the same machine (luckily I saved a copy of it before it automatically got deleted), and I thought the system would ask me if I want to "Repair" or want a "Fresh" install etc, but it didn't ask me anything and I ran the "nstall OS X Mavericks" as if I was running on Mountain Lion .. it worked the same way as previously, and BINGO, everything works now !!!
You may wanna try this "re-installation" without going back to Mountain Lion, and keeping Time Zone & Time to automatic update ... and hope it works for you too !
Cheers.

Oct 27, 2013 5:20 AM in response to xafarby Drewbee,Spent almost an hour with AppleCare and tried all the usual stuff -- repair disk, parameter ram, reinstall Mavericks and nothing worked.
C'mon Apple. Release a patch and fix this already.

Oct 27, 2013 7:36 AM in response to Andres Hidalgoby VisualPro,Here is the fix that worked for me. Use at your owe risk. I do not recommend you do this unless you are somewhat tech savvy.... Otherwise, go to the apple store and get a tech to get the serial number back into the bios of the mac.
You need to find your serial number on the bottom of your mac or if older mbp remove battery and it is inside the battery housing.
Use this program to write the serial number to the board.

FYI you don't need to use a CD you can use a USB and on bootup hold the option key down and you can boot from the USB stick.

Oct 28, 2013 4:40 AM in response to Andres Hidalgoby Paulo Carrasco,All the things I've done so far didn't work:
- fix keychain using First Aid
- Erased expirated certificates
- Check the timezone
- disabling and signing off in all my iCloud Devices and signing in afterwards
- Clearing iCloud Sync folders after removing icloud account from my MB Pro
- Started in Safe Mode for "houskeeping"
- Started in Recovery Mode and checked/fixed disk and permissions
- Reinstalling Mavericks over Mavericks
there must be an easy fix for this. Maybe an SSL Certificate that wasn't migrated or is incompatible. Something.
Will keep trying.

Same here. Connection error.
No problem with iPhones and iPads so it's Maverick!
