iWork free for iPhone 5s

This should work:

Go to the App Store on your iPhone which should open to Featured. If not, tap on Featured at the lower left of the screen & scroll down to Collections & tap on New to the App Store? then scroll down to Apps Made by Apple & tap. You should now see the iWork & iLife apps as "FREE."

If not, I suggest making a Genius Bar appointment & have them check it out.

Just got a 5s today and all those apps are listed as $9.99. I don't get it.

Do you have other iOS devices eg iPad? If you have sign in with the Apple ID that is used to install the iWork apps on your 5S. Then check if those apps are in the purchased section in the App Store. If they are then you should be able to download it on your other iOS devices and also your 5S. If it can't be downloaded on your 5S just do a restore via iTunes it should now work

Could not get done iWork free as per instruction: have same Apple ID for 5S as for 4, have signed in as new phone but iwork apps are not free. What to do, please help?

It's pretty confusing. What worked for me just now is instead of just searching for the apps, find them through "Apps made by Apple", which is itself quite hidden. I found it in a category under "New to the App Store?". Then it shows the iLife apps as free.

This worked for me too. All the iWork apps were showing as full price but when I went to :

App Store

Featured

Collections

Apple apps

They were all there free of charge.
