    Hey there clementecl,

It sounds like after you updated to Mavericks your iMovie icon is no longer in the dock so you cannot run it.

If iMovie was an app you Accepted from the App Store, you can re download it free of charge. Open the App store icon and click Purchased.

If it was installed via disc, you can re install it from the disk and update it with software updates.

For Mac OS X v10.5 and later

    • Insert the Applications installation disc and double-click the Install Bundled Software icon. If your computer came with an iLife installation disc, or you purchased a newer version of iLife, insert that disc instead.
    • Follow the onscreen instructions. Then, in the Installation Type pane, click Customize.
    • Click the disclosure triangle next to Bundled Applications, select the checkbox next to the application you want to install, then click Install.

Once it is installed, you should run software updates.

Is it in your Application folder?

Launch Finder > Applications and scoll down to see if it is installed.

    OR

Go to the top right of the screen to the spotlight icon (looks like the magnifying glass) and type iMovie, does the Application show in the list?

I also am having problems with iMovie and iPhoto updating throught he App Store on Mavericks.  I tried removing the apps and installing iLife11 straight from the disc again.  Garageband and iDVD install fine but iMovie and iPhoto keep telling me to update but when I try to update it gives me an error that the applications were installed under a different Apple ID.

    Please advise.
