Q: I too am getting the "Moving calendars to server account" pane when I open iCal

I too am getting the "Moving calendars to server account" pane when I open iCal. All fixes I have read seem to involve turning iCal off an on and/or rebooting. I cannot touch iCal. All is grayed out in iCal and in iCloud system preferences. I am using 10.8.5 and iCal version ... Well, that is grayed out too. Waiting a really long time does not seem to help.

    Hi =D

When i see this issue i log out from iCloud account on system preference > iCloud

So i open the calendar again and the message was not in there.

So now on the app Calendar i Sync the iCloud account ( on the app )
    Works OK

Some times i lose a information or two of the day that i have this issue, but on the iPhone still have the information.

    Hi all,

glad to hear that some could solve the problem. Nothing worked for me.

Status with Maverick on 17" MBP 2011, iPhone 5, iPad 4

    1) iCloud: from my 10 calenders, the most impotant one (used since 2000, saved from palm) and 4 others are not there. The other 6 look quite ok butr not complete

    2) MBP: iCal still shows some entries I made bevore I opened iCal to the cloud from 3 Calenders and is still saying : Moving calendars to server account - 2 days no. Restart, etc. nothing worked.

    3) iPhone not yet connected - has all data on it

    4) iPad not yet connected - has nearly all data on it

Does anybody have an idea how I get the remaining data from my MBP to the cloud? …how do I get my calenders back (not in iCloud nor MBP?

Is there a certain sequence I could follow, still having everything on my iPhone?

    Please help

By the way: I do travel a lot and do not always have a connection to the net/cloud. This forces me back in stoneage with my palm. What a stupid idea to force me to use the cloud for syncing 2 devices I have on my table. Is there any other sync possibility?

Apple turns me down after so many years

    Thanks to all

I have the same problem as most people who have posted above.

I was desperate, none of the solutions worked for me.

But today I had an idea, and it worked.

I logged into iCloud as a guest user - and there was my calendar, and I was able use it as if nothing was wrong with my calendar when I accessed it in my own name.

This is not satisfactory, but it means that I can use my calendar and alter it.

And I was able of course to use any other computer to use my iCloud calendar using my own iCloud account. This means that this a problem caused locally on my computer using OS X 10.9 (13A603).

Add me to the list.  When I installed Mavericks calendar got stuck.  Still stuck "moving calendar to servers account".  Nothing but APPLE problems since the IOS7 and Mavericks upgrade.  Grrrrrr

I closed out iCloud and now I can use the calendar, BUT all my info is NOW GONE since the "upgrade" to Mavericks.  I'm not happy with ANY APPLE UPGRADES at this time.  They are ruining a good product.

AND now it's all back when I re-opened iCloud.  This is Apples attempt at making us us this iCloud service whether we want to or not.  PLUS to get more space on iCloud, which will evenutally be necessary, they charge for it.

    Brendt:

Unfortunately there is no alternative to syncing through the cloud (whether it is iCloud or some other cloud) short of setting up your own server. There is a very lengthy (and not always on-topic) discussion here: https://discussions.apple.com/thread/5460803

    Hi alovelyladybird,

you are right, unfortunately. Thanks for the link I added a long post. You may want to read it.

I am looking for alternatives because even after apple support I lost all my data and the iCal in the cloud does not work.

    Cheers

Thanks melisolaris I had the same problem when joining icloud with Mavericks, but without the Reminders bit. Your fix logging out and back in again, worked a treat for me.
