Q: WiFi doesn't reconnect after sleep < Mavs + Late2013iMac

Anyone else with 2013 iMacs having issues with Wifi? Mine, since upgrading to Mavericks doesn't reconnect to Wifi if it's been in sleep mode for awhile. In fact, the Wifi is X'd out (in the menu item). My recently upgraded mid 2012 MacBook Air doesn't seem to be having the same problem. Aside from the various services complaining in the console about not being able to connect, the one that stands out as a bit odd is...

10/29/13 12:09:03.000 PM kernel[0]: en1: BSSID changed to 90:72:40:18:c2:69.

The one other change recently, around the same time as Mavs was the addition of the new 802.11ac APE, though that was in place for a couple weeks before Mavs was released. The X'd out AP menu item leads me to believe it's a kext or hardware issue. Using the menu to turn WiFi off, then back on again gets things working again, so it's not a major problem, but curious if it's a known/common problem.

Thanks!

Hi Chis, this has worked for a few...

Though all of these steps may or may not be needed, I'm including them all.

Make a New Location, Using network locations in Mac OS X ...

    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT2712

    10.5, 10.6, 10.7 & 10.8…

System Preferences>Network, top of window>Locations>Edit Locations, little plus icon, give it a name.

    10.5.x/10.6.x/10.7.x instructions...

System Preferences>Network, click on the little gear at the bottom next to the + & - icons, (unlock lock first if locked), choose Set Service Order.

The interface that connects to the Internet should be dragged to the top of the list.

    If using Wifi/Airport...

Instead of joining your Network from the list, click the WiFi icon at the top, and click join other network. Fill in everything as needed.
