Hi All
I downloaded the new OS X Mavericks and I want to download a tune from Itunes onto my sd card .
when I load the card into the computer it always showed on my desktop. but not now?
When i go to remove it a little box pops on screen warning me that the sd card hasnt been properly adjected.
But how do I find it on my desktop to start with?

iMac, Mac OS X (10.7.3)
Click on the Desktop and go to Finder>Preferences>General tab and make sure External Disks is ticked. Also do the same on the Sidebar tab in Finder Prefs, if you would like the SD card to show in a new Finder window.

With the SD card in the slot, if you launch Disk Utility from the Utilities folder, is the card listed on the left?

Yes. It is showing on the left.
In Disk Utility, when you select it on the left, what does it say the format is at the bottom of the window? Mac OS Extended (Journaled) or something else?
It doesnt say anything I just have the disk name

Just spotted the little info at the bottom.
the format says MS-DOS(FAT32) 😕
I think the disk needs formatting for use with your Mac as it says the format is MS-DOS (FAT32) - N.B. this will destroy any data on the SD card.
If you are happy to wipe it clean for use with the iMac, select it (the line that currently says 1.98 GB......) give it a name and from the 'Erase' tab select Mac OS Extended (Journaled) option and click on 'erase'. It should then work with the Mac.
I have already used this sd card on my imac, it's not a new card.
The only thing thats changed is I downloaded the new maverick.
Obviously it's having a hissy fit and doesnt like it!!!😁
I dont really want to lose all the info and photo's etc if I can avoid it. but, if there is no other way, that's what i'll have to do.
Alternatively I'll buy a new card and start again.

It should work as is - not sure why it won't. However, you could try this:
In Disk Utility select the disk and from the top of the window select 'Mount'. Does it appear on the desktop? If so, copy the data off and then format it into a more Mac-friendly format.
or...
reboot with the SD card plugged in and hopefully it'll appear on the desktop. If so, copy of the data and reformat it as above.
Ok, I'll try that later and let you know if it worked.

new osx mavericks doesn't see my sd card
