Well it sounds like the infighting between Apple & Google has reached a new high with the consumer stuck in the middle.

My solution will be to forward my gmail to my Icloud email unless Google decides to take the feature away too.

Users are reporting this in 14 to 30 day increments.

    Passwords expire every 30 days.

Password change notice set at default of 14 days. (Windows Server 2003 Domain)

The message received by users on their iPhone5:

    ---------------------------------------------------------------

    Cannot Get Mail

The user name or password for "domainname" is incorrect.

    SETTINGS          OK

    ----------------------------------------------------------------

Users report that most times clicking OK resumes e-mail delivery to the iPhone5.Then finally they must change their AD password from a PC/Laptop to change it on the iPhone5 to resume e-mail.

One user changed their AD password on 4/18. On 5/7 they noticed message on their PC stating Password to expire in 11 days.  4/18 +19 days is today (5/7) +11 days is 30. This coincides with our Domain Password Policy. Because of the infrequency, and the Domain policy settings it appears in my case it just might be the Password Policy. This information is not conclusive. I have posted this as something others may want to try while we wait for more information from Apple.

    In the Doman Group Policy:

Check the Maximum Password Age in Group Policy under Computer Configuration/Windows Settings/Security Settings/Account Policies Account Policies. Note the number of days.

Check the Interactive logon: Prompt user to change password before expiration setting in Group Policy under Computer Configuration/Windows Settings/Security Settings/Local Policies/Interactive Logon. Note the number of days.

See if the issue you are experiencing correlates to your Password Policy settings.

    Hi All,

Ive just signed up to this forum to answer this because I may have found the issue for some of you, 'if' you did the same as me!

I recently changed my exchange 2003 account to a 2010 exchange after buying a Mac and being told by Fasthosts (my domain provider) that Mac outlook needs a 2010, as not compatible with 2003. I set up my email, it worked on my outlook from a fresh as it deleted my emails from the old server. However I made a pst back up of my old emails and imported them to my outlook so in effect they were there.

I UPLOADED these old emails to the new 2010 server so that I could have them in my new inbox, sync'd live over the cloud with all other devices on my new exchange 2010 inbox. In otherwords, I dragged a couple of thousand emails from the 'local' folder in my outlook to the new inbox.

My iPhone and iPad was set up correctly as per the settings advised, but only downloaded emails up until the swap over date from 2003 to 2010 exchange.

I automatically set my iPhone and iPads up to sync emails by 1 month. I learnt that this was causing the connection to the server to fail and not download any NEW emails after the swap over date. (hence how i found this thread whilst searching the web for resolutions)

I tried several things and finally worked out that when I sync'd by 1 day only, new emails arrived. It was the cross over from the old server to the new server which the mobile device couldn't handle. Once 3 days had past, I changed to 'Sync 3 days' and its fine. Tomorrow, I'll be able to change to 1 week and so on until I reach a month where all old 2003 emails will be past 1 month old.

If I hadn't of uploaded old emails saved/imported by pst, this problem wouldn't have happened. So it's worth noting if you merge old server origination emails to a new one, it'll be fine in principle but not on mobile devices if your asking it to download PAST the date when the new server was activated.

worst case, if you've done the same as me and uploaded old back up emails, wait a day and reset your iphone/ipad to sync 1 day.

hope it helps a few people anyway.

THANK YOU!!! I didnt even know the web version had a option like that on the site. I sync everybody iphone to exchange accept for one person and i try everything from checking and unchecking the inherit parent box to rebooting everything and I was about to back up all his mail and delete his account but I saw your post and gave it a try and it works. He had over 10 phones that was link to his account and as soon as i deleted 8 of the phones and retry the activesync on his iphone...it works like a charm. Thank You

Exactly, Speedy0339. This is how I fixed this issue (at least, so far so good!). First of all, everyone must have grasped by now that this is a GOOGLE issue, not related to your carrier and not related to APPLE. If you enjoyed EXCHANGE, you can kiss it goodbye on your iPhone 5. It's not too difficult to solve the problem though. Just visit the Apple Store and download the free Google mail app. - That solves the mail issue immediately. However I stil had difficulties with the contacts and my calendar. Check out this site for very clear instructions. I needed to open two accounts, one for contacts and one for calendar:

My iphone 5 was working 5 after restoring from my iphone 4 cloud backup.

Suddenly last week - push stopped.

And I heard this from many others. So the "grandfathered in" thing doesn't appear to be a valid argument.

In downloaded the new mailbox app on my iphone and iPad and it is working great. Push didn't seem to initially work - but about 12 hrs later all was good.

I hate having multiple mail apps for the different servers I access - but glad to have push again.

Richeek, nobody is going to do anything to solve your issue... Perhaps you should begin by reading this thread from the beginning. You will realize that your situation is not unique. The root of the problem is Google, not Apple, not your phone provider. On the other hand, Google has provided an alternative:

Why does everyone keep banging on about Googlemail! This thread clearly shows the subject "Temp fix for iOS 6 not pushing Exchange mail"  so if anyone has an issue with googlemail, start a new thread or maybe it's because Google is using exchange server? But, this thread ISNT just about googlemail.

If your having issues with googlemail, then try the fix suggested above.

If your simply using exchange email (any domain host) and having problems with push on ios6, then try syncing only 1 day (in settings). My problem was realised when i tried this because I switched from exchange 2008 to Exhange 2010 - same email address/different virtual host server. My phone tried to pull old 2008 exchange emails from the new server and failed, therefore blocking any new ones. Changed to sync 1 day and then adapted as and when the new server emails got older (but still after the changeover date).

I have the same issues as above, and have since fixed it using the Temp Fix... workaround. However, I have an additional issue.

Though my Gmail exchange account does "push" the mail, I do not get the notification on the screen, whether the phone is locked or not. I feel the vibrate and/or receive the alert, but no notification on-screen (yes it is set up to have banner notifications). I have another Gmail exhange account shared with my wife that does this just fine and had no other issues with mail not being pushed...it was only mine.

Anyone else have this issue as well?

The Gmail App is only half baked - its still only supports "conversation view" which is a pain!

    Found the answer

Not hardly! The Gmail App is lame since it only supports "copnversation view" wich is a pain to follow real email threads. You can turn it off for webmail but not the App!?

If your notifications are off then you will not receive the emails. Please make sure the notifications are switched on.. I am 4s with the latest iOS.
